At the end of August I had a unique opportunity to photograph and fly over a unique luxury ranch property only about 1.5 miles as the crow flies beyond the New Mexico border in a small, small town call Blue River, Arizona. This shoot was unique because I actually stayed on the property in the guest cabin, so I could easily shoot at all hours of the day capturing a luxury real estate property like I never was able to do before. The owner, Miriam, was a gracious host and very helpful even in assisting with some aspects of the shoot. If you want acres of land, your very own pond, and privacy, this might just be the place for you! Clouds like coral over the Sandia Mountains in New Mexico
Having been to remote northwest Rio Rancho, New Mexico at least a hundred times over the past 3+ years for rural land real estate photography, I have made hundreds and hundreds of photos of the Sandia Mountains using a 70-200mm lens, with this shot being made by the amazing Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 G Master lens. One might not think a telephoto lens is good for landscape photography, but if what you want to photograph is very far away, it will just get lost in a wide angle lens. On this particular afternoon, the clouds above the mountains rivaled the mountains themselves for drama. To me they look like undersea coral? What do you think?
Same headshot lighting for a doctor two very different looks
Starting a new position, Pranshu visited the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico because as a doctor, he wanted a modern headshot for looking great on his new hospital’s website’s staff page. He had no preference to background color, so I suggested starting on a nice clean white background to standout on all website designs, and for the second headshot, switching to the bold look a black background makes, even with the same lighting on him for both shots. Which background color is your favorite?
While out on a rural land real estate shoot for Hemingway Land, the client wanted me to get some photos of the local color, as he put it. These photos represent that. Even if you live in Albuquerque, you may not have ever been to nearby Moriarty, NM. The town’s nickname is the Crossroads of Opportunity. Many small New Mexico towns have such monikers attached to their welcome signs. I find them interesting. So this small town may not be the first thing you think of when someone says Moriarty. Most likely you think Sherlock Holmes’ nemesis, but now you can bring up knowledge of a second Moriarty in conversation!
Back out on another aerial drone photography flight for WSP involving a bridge, this time in the very small town of Endee, New Mexico. This bridge spans I-40 just before the border with Texas. This is the furthest I have traveled for WSP after several bridge drone photo shoots around Albuquerque, like these all along Tramway Blvd. After the flight I checked out the amazing Rt 66 car museum in the Russells Truck & Travel Center. This is possibly the best ever gas/convenience store/truck stop I have ever been to. I highly recommend stopping by to see the museum and get a snack!
Modern headshots for legal staff and lawyers in Albuquerque
Giddens and Gatton Law located here in Albuquerque, New Mexico are great clients that continue to choose me as their headshot photographer as they add new lawyers and legal staff. This time Jen visited the JCP Home Studio for a Covid-19 safe headshot session in the same modern business style I first made for everyone at the law firm 1.5 years ago. Leaving Albuquerque on a scenic drive for a day trip can take you to Abiquiu Lake. Driving offroad can get you to this less visited southern area of the lake. I was on a rural land real estate shoot for a client who also wanted some footage of the lake. Finding access from the south was a challenge due to a couple of locked gates, but I found a place to launch the drone from just in time to get this stunning golden hour and sunset cinematic 4K drone video.
