Photo shoot inquiries usually come from my contact page or by a phone call, but this one started with frisbee! Felix is a long time frisbee friend, recent summer league teammate, and someone I have watched live music with around PG, and who I have seen him play live too! When the band he is in needed a new collection of photographs to promote and market themselves, downtown Pacific Grove gave us the setting to create group branding portraits that showcased the full range of personality in the band and among all the band members. I was glad to produce photos that they can can pull from for upcoming performances, social media, websites, posters, press, and wherever else they need to visually represent the band.
I am always grateful when a client chooses to work with me again, and Waveform Electric has trusted me with several photography and drone video projects throughout the Monterey Peninsula, as well as making their team headshots and family business portraits! I was extra excited when they contacted me about a drone project in the Aurora Del Mar area of Carmel Highlands, as I had actually daydreamed about this specific area in the past, so to get to see it in person (it is a gated community so you cannot just go there) was a daydream come true, ha! Waveform wanted drone video of batteries they installed in a garage, and a shot going from in the garage up to the water view. This was a challenge on several fronts, starting with how to get the exposure to be bright enough for the garage, but not totally overexposed for the water and the sky. Then, it was a very tight space with trees in the way and getting any continuous shot smoothly takes a lot of concentration. After a couple of tries, I was glad with the continuous shot I was able to get for them and confident it was the best possible given the conditions and circumstances. Thank you to the team at Waveform for continuing to choose me as their drone pilot and photographer!
A New Construction Client, Already Three Shoots In
I really appreciate returning clients. This new client was an exceptional case because I had three right in succession! By the time I left Carmel, I had already completed multiple shoots for AA Construction Company. Though they were all in progress job sites, each site offered its own unique opportunity for creating photographs and aerial drone photos to highlight how AA Construction builds its own client projects and to show their team and crew in action. In particular, the framing stage made this visit especially visual. Walls were beginning to define the layout, workers were measuring and fastening structural components, and the shape of the building could be understood from both inside the site and above it. My goal was to create photographs that documented the progress accurately while also showing the people, physical effort, and craftsmanship behind the build. Thank you to Andrew and Mandi for choosing me as their new construction and job site photographer and drone pilot!
Collaborating with the listing agents on the drone video
My first time working with Spencer and Melanie on one of their residential real estate listings was a true collaboration. They knew the property well and were very helpful in suggesting in particular a long approach shot for the drone video flying in from the direction of Carmel Mission toward the house itself located right behind the mission. This view was also used for an aerial drone photo showing the location and proximity of the house to both the mission and Carmel River Beach. Thank you Spencer and Melanie and I look forward to working together on your next listing!
Dante visits for a team headshot for his new law firm position on the Monterey Peninsula
It was great to hear from Madison of Bradford & Barthel, LLP again saying another new attorney was joining their firm in my area and could I make a headshot for him consistent with their established headshot style. I looked up the headshot I made for the first attorney, Diego, they sent to my Pacific Grove, CA photo studio and my BTS shot from that shoot refreshed my memory on how to get things setup for when Dante would soon come for his headshot. Providing consistent results, even a year apart, is what I offer clients with my team headshot system approach. It was great having Dante in the studio for his headshot session, where we found a pose that felt natural for him while still matching the overall look of his firm’s brand. Thank you to Madison and the team at Bradford & Barthel for continuing to choose me as their headshot photographer for their lawyers!
Construction Photography That Shows the Finished Craftsmanship
This was my first construction and renovation photography shoot for Amy and Chris of Hare Construction. The team completed a transformative renovation of a historical Pacific Grove house, using many repurposed pieces in the final design per the choices of the owner of the house. It was a collaboration with Amy and Chris making these photos, highlighting key areas of the renovation, like the interior entryway doors and staircase, the unique faucet fixture in the bathroom, and the newly exposed alcove feature above a fireplace that used to be a column of brick. It was really interesting to me to hear how the house was before the renovation, how old features of the house were rediscovered, and how windows used to be parts of old doors Thank you to Hare Construction for choosing me as your photographer for capturing this beautifully updated PG home.
Start Your Career with a Professional First Impression
A professional headshot is one of the simplest ways for a recent graduate to look ready for the job market. Instead of using a cropped phone photo, graduation snapshot, or casual social media image, a studio headshot creates a more intentional and professional introduction. Whether you are applying for your first full-time position, looking for internships, entering graduate school, or building your LinkedIn profile, your headshot helps people see you as prepared, approachable, and ready for opportunity.
