In Studio and Out on the Street Branding Shoot for a Local DJ and Music Producer

For just my second shoot in the new photo studio in Pacific Grove, it was an evening personal branding photo shoot for local DJ and producer Jason Kushy (check out his music on Spotify and everywhere else). He was fine with the studio being in nowhere near final form and setup. He was also very excited and passionate about the shoot, which I appreciated. We started out in studio getting a series of photos of a certain look, before heading out into the early night onto Forest Ave right in the heart of downtown Pacific Grove for some light trail shots and street vibe images. As you can see below, Jason has already put the images from the shoot up on his Spotify profile. It was a great personal branding photo shoot and I look forward to working with Jason again on making more images for his music career! Visiting a Pacific Grove lumber yard to make live social media photos

As sometimes happen, how I think a shoot will go, and how it actually goes, are quite different. Such was the case when I arrived at Hayward Lumber in Pacific Grove, California to first make social media content photos with a provided shot list, and then to get a few photographs of the event taking place right in the lumber yard parking lot. Normally I would want to setup shots, likely use off camera lighting, and be in a controlled environment when doing this kind of photography, but, none of that was possible in an open for business lumber yard! I had to get the shots I could, as work happened live, finding volunteers for photos when possible and trying to tick off as many shots as I could from the shot list. With the help of a few team members, I was able to complete the list in the end!

Making candids across Monterey County starting in Salinas

In yet another hard to believe photography connection, a media company I did a shoot for in Albuquerque three years, has another campaign they are working on here in Monterey County where I moved to 1.5 years ago. So through this cross time and state connection, I was out on assignment working with a representative from the Monterey County Department of Education making photographs of the first of 6+ kids and students across the large expanse of the county. I was told just to get photos of the kids being kids, so that’s why I did for this first student at a school in Salinas. I really like this kind of “on assignment” type photography. More photo shoots to come this month for this campaign!

Kitchen Remodel Photography for Home in Pacific Grove California

It was a very specific subject for my third shoot (first and second shoots) for Adelle of Murrer Construction, a custom kitchen renovation in a Pacific Grove, California home. The team at Murrer changed a galley kitchen into a modern, open, large island style kitchen with white cabinets and stainless steel appliances. This is all not mentioning adding hardwood floors too! I saw a couple of before pictures and the difference in function and vibe made to the house is unbelievable. I think the new kitchen photographed very well. Bathroom and Bedroom Remodel Photography for Home in Pacific Grove California

This is already the second shoot for my new client, Adelle of Murrer Construction. The amazing work her construction team did on this bathroom renovation made shooting it a creative jog. My favorite photo from this commercial real estate shoot in Pacific Grove was this top down one of the free standing soaking bathtub. For the bedroom I wanted to highlight the details they built in, not the furniture the owner added. So the custom cabinetry is in the shot below, as long as the two sets of doors, one leading to the deck and the other to the bathroom. Thank you Adelle for being my first client in Pacific Grove!
