It was great having Max visiting my photography studio here in Pacific Grove, California for an extended actor headshot session and portfolio shoot. He was very expressive in his poses and the impression he wanted to give in each photo. I was glad to setup the lighting and background to best capture these images to complement his ideas as we worked together to make them. Several of the photos I thought were well suited to converting to black & white as well and offered them as a bonus in his edited photo gallery I delivered shortly after our shoot (I like to get edited photos to clients asap!). Thank you Max for choosing me as your actor headshot and portfolio photographer!
Dr. Gentry reached out to me about the new psychiatric practice he is opening in Carmel, California, and how he wanted a series of personal branding photos for his upcoming website. As his office space was still coming together, we decided to start in my studio here in Pacific Grove for the first shoot, focusing on branding photos that would prominently show his logo on his white coat. We worked carefully together on both expression and posing to get the look Dr. Gentry wanted for representing himself to patients on his website and other branding materials. That process also involved getting the background color right, choosing the best shirt to wear under his white coat, and then focusing on the most important part of all, his eyes, so they conveyed the right tone. Thank you, Dr. Gentry, for your patience as we worked through all of those details together, and thank you for choosing me as your photographer.
Every headshot session is different, even when you have done hundreds like I have. You never know what is most important to a client until they are in the studio. My experience of making hundreds of headshots allows me to, in real time, provide what each particular client needs. At the start of Allison’s session to make a new headshot for her company’s website, I had no idea I would end up converting her edited headshots to black & white, but I just thought they really worked in black & white, in addition to color. Once we found the pose that Allison liked, we stuck with that and focused on hair position, and background color. We shot on two different gray backgrounds to provide the variety of headshot here, along with two different sweeping hairstyles. I did not know at the start this shoot would go this direction, but I listen to my clients and then make the best headshots I can based on that real time collaboration with clients. Shooting tethered to a 42” screen helps them see, again in real time, which direction they want to go for their headshot style. Thank you Allison for a creative shoot with some of my favorite black & white headshots I have made to date!
It was a real treat to have Dr. Jamie and her team visit my photo studio in Pacific Grove, CA for team headshots and a team photo as well! I mostly have individuals come to the studio for headshots, as it is not the biggest studio in the world, but for 5 people it worked out well. So that each person could still have their own individual style shoot, it was only one person at a time in the studio, while everyone else waited out in the lobby. Then after each person was happy with the headshot we made, the rest of the team came in and was super supportive of the image made of that team member, adding reassurance and encouragement! These genuine feelings for each other showed up in one of the best team photos I have ever made (see below)! I liked it so much I put it immediately on the home page of my website in my very select home page portfolio gallery.
Christina had a 5-star headshot experience at my photo studio in Pacific Grove California
I welcome headshots clients to my photography studio in Pacific Grove, California to have a relaxed, and even fun photo session experience. Christina sent example headshots that were helpful in me preparing the studio before she even arrived so when she did, all was ready to go to make headshots that matched the examples, but still with my own signature style and quality. This in turn allowed Christina to get headshots she liked so much she gave the photo session a 5 star review (see below) and it also did not take up up more than 15 minutes of her time. Thank you Christina for the kind review and for choosing me as your headshot photographer!
Shooting tethered for live reviewing helps get the right smile each time!
Natalie and her husband visited my photo studio in downtown Pacific Grove for a series of new headshots for her. Natalie was looking for a couple of specific levels of smile in her headshots. Since I shoot tethered she was able to review each headshot we made in real time on a 43” screen. This allowed us to get the particular smile she wanted for each headshot as we shot on two different backgrounds (white and gray) and with a couple of different poses as well. This is one big benefit I offer headshot clients, the chance to see each headshot as we go through the photo shoot so we work together to get the exact headshot they want. Thank you to Natalie and her husband for a fun shoot, a creative one, and for a true team effort in making these headshots!
Headshot Photography Studio open in Pacific Grove for LinkedIn and other business profiles
Everett visited my photography studio in downtown Pacific Grove, California wanting new headshots to use on his LinkedIn profile. I listened to what he wanted in terms of background color and pose, making him one headshot on my new modern gray background in more of a profile pose and then another on a clean white background posed more straight forward. I always offer the client just what they want, and if the client just wants the two edited headshots that come with the starting price headshot session, then I make exactly that for them! Great job in front of the camera Everett and thank you for choosing me as your headshot photographer.
