Using the sunset for commercial photography in ABQ

On a warm weekday evening in Albuquerque, New Mexico, I took my camera and tripod to The View ABQ apartment complex to make sunset HDR real estate photos, as well interior photos. This place certainly lives up to its name and with dramatic clouds and a bright sunset, I was given ample material to photograph and deliver to the client!

Fireworks Photography in Albuquerque 2019

For the first 4th of July in a long time I had my camera out on a tripod using bulb mode and an index card to capture multiple fireworks burst in one exposure. Setup in a wide open field at Balloon Fiesta Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico I had a clear view with little wind to blow smoke into the frame, but on the other hand not much of a foreground to set the fireworks in. My step-by-step guide for making fireworks photos goes into even more detail about how and why I like to photograph fireworks. Still, I was pleased with the images I was able to make even from a good distance away.

SE Albuquerque by drone photo

A recent drone flight job took me to the far southeast of Albuquerque, New Mexico with the main purpose of making 4K drone video for the client, but while my drone was up in the air, I thought I’d get some still photos as well too as I had never flown in this area before. To my surprise this visual art event was dog friendly so in we went! As you walk on the floor, color moves. How does it to that? Seemed like magic! Tables flow with changing patterns that react to hand movements, also seemingly by magic! People really loved interacting with light and color and art. This was a fantastic stumble upon experience!

Frozen Midnight in Albuquerque New Mexico Snow Photography Black & White

Frozen Treetops Over Dark Pools

Right on time to the weather forecast, snow began falling at 5pm on a Friday. By midnight it was a frozen landscape like I have never seen in Albuquerque, New Mexico before. There was not just snow cover, it was as if the trees and ground themselves had become snow leaving only dark ponds to contrast with all that white. I went out with my tripod to make these long exposure (5, 15, 30 second exposures) in black & white around my own apartment complex grounds.

ABQ in long view

If are a subscriber to my business Facebook Page, then you see my regular Facebook Live videos from the many rural land real estate shoots I am on in remote northwest Rio Rancho and the unique views that area offers. Through the eye of my telephoto lens, you can see nearly all of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho sprawled out at the feet of the Sandia Mountains.
