Tiffany visited the JCP Home Studio with specific requests for her headshot. She knew she wanted a black background, and a three-quarter view. She left the posing and lighting up to me. Whenever clients have guidelines for their headshots I am happy to match them and if asked, offer my own additional creative touches to produce headshots that make both them and their employer happy. Thank you Tiffany for choosing me as your headshot photographer!
Author headshots made to attract her target reader audience in Albuquerque
Sometimes clients have very specific ideas for their headshots, and I am happy to make those come to reality. Such was the case for an author who visited the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mary wanted a certain look and feel to her headshots to match her target reader audience. We made one headshot on a white background and one on a black background to help with the different looks she wanted. Thank you Mary for choosing me as your headshot photographer!
High Impact THC Product Photography on reflective black background in ABQ
After making a couple dozen photos of their THC products on a white background (see photos) here at the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico, this new client wanted to try out a black background. At the time I only had a 1’ x 1’ black background, but I went to Port Plastics (highly recommended) in ABQ to have a 28” x 36” reflective black acrylic piece made that was big enough to get the shots the client wanted. Finding a way to get the results clients want, even if it requires custom studio pieces, is one of the benefits of choosing Jason Collin Photography! It was great working with Chazz again on these shots and I think the black background compliments the products very well. Thank you Chazz and the team for continuing to choose me as your product photographer!
On location and in studio for actor headshots in Albuquerque
It was great to see Kristina again for two more actor headshots shoots here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our first shoot was about 1.5 years ago in studio. This time we tried out on location where we stumbled upon a great brick wall background. For part two of the shoot she wanted to return to the studio and have her preferred black background for those headshots. Thank you Kristina for continuing to choose me as your actor headshot photographer!
More and more voice actors are choosing Jason Collin Photography in Albuquerque, New Mexico for high impact headshots. Glenn visited the JCP Home Studio wanting a series of headshots he could use in his voice acting work. The irony was not lost on us regarding the importance of a visual headshot for work that is voice only! However, many voice actors make YouTube videos to promote their work and for that all important YouTube thumbnail cover image, you need a high impact headshot! That’s exactly what I did for Glenn during our shoot, making a range of headshots from serious to smiling on both white and black backgrounds. Thank you Glenn for choosing me as your headshot photographer!
Adapting on location to get professional product shots of cannabis in ABQ
You might be surprised how often I have no idea what type of photography situation I will be getting into upon arriving at a client’s location. That’s one of the things that makes a pro photographer a pro, is being able to get good results in any conditions, changing conditions, and challenging conditions. Such was the case with Ironfist Cannabis, where we started out shooting right where the cannabis plants themselves were growing, but had to pivot to trimming the tops off and using a studio background and off camera lighting setup to get the results you see here. This also taught me that I cannot again shoot indoors on location at such a place as the odor from the plants lingers to this day still in some of my photo gear! Thank you to Javier for helping with the shoot on site. This was also the first chance to use my new snoot to really focus the light only on part of the plants. You can see the simple but effective setup below in a BTS shot.
One of my best headshots ever made for an actor in Albuquerque
If you can believe it, Roy had no real previous experience in front of the camera for getting actor and model headshots when he visited the JCP Home Studio right here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In fact, the headshot above is not just one of the best headshots I have made, it’s one of the best photos I’ve ever made all thanks to Roy being a natural in front of the camera, and having just the right lighting for his pose, wardrobe, and for the black background color. We even got experimental using my new V-Flats to make a split color background for one shot! Thank you Roy for choosing me as your headshot photographer (and for Max for the referral)!
