Navajo Dam Lake Marina New Mexico Drone Video and Aerial Photos

Navajo Dam Lake Marina New Mexico Drone Video and Aerial Photos

In my second trip to the Navajo Dam Lake area, I was able to fly my drone more over the lake itself and make aerial photos with my DJI Mavic Pro drone as well!  The first time  was only able to fly over the dam, this time I got to fly out over the lake, even very low and fast to the water!  There is a surprisingly large marina at this lake, and not something one would expect to find in a land-locked, desert state that's for sure!  A head's up though, if you are thinking of renting any kind of watercraft, be there early!  Me and Jessica and the dogs were too late (even at 10am!) to get a boat, but that could not stop us from having fun!

Valley of Fires New Mexico 4K Drone Video Mavic Pro

A few months ago I went to Dona Ana County, New Mexico for the first time for a rural land photography shoot and drone video flight.  I visited White Sands on the way back, and after that the desert highway took me through a wild landscape of lava.  There was no time to stop then, but on my return to the area for another photo and drone shoot in Cloudcroft, I made sure I had time to stop and fly my DJI Mavic Pro drone over the Valley of Fires!

Flowers Like Rocket Popsicles in Cloudcroft New Mexico

Flowers Like Rocket Popsicles in Cloudcroft New Mexico

On a recent overnight photo shoot trip to Cloudcroft, New Mexico the excellent true bed & breakfast I stayed at, The Crofting Inn, had this wonderful flower garden.  Being still totally enamored with my recent purchase of the Tamron 90mm f/2.8 SP Macro lens, I am always looking for opportunities to use it.  These flowers on their own would have been beautiful to photograph, but the color of the bokeh really makes this macro flora image.  Then upon further exam, I thought these flowers looked like the classic rocket popsicles I used to enjoy on hot summer days growing up!  Tell me what you think in the comments below.

Professional Food Photography of Albuquerque New Mexico - Twisters

Professional Food Photography of Albuquerque New Mexico - Twisters

ezCater is my latest food photography client here in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  They are sending me to restaurants all over the city that provide catered food to make about 20 photos of their offerings.  The final shot, the "hero shot," as it is called, is getting as many of those potentially 20 dishes in the camera frame as possible.  If I got all of them in, every dish would look really small, not to mention there often is not space to make a shot like that as I shoot right in the regular customer area of the restaurant.  So I ask the restaurant owner which dishes are the ones she/he wants featured, then focus on getting as many of those as possible in the shot, like the one you see above.

Headshots for Office Staff at Express in Albuquerque New Mexico

I had not done an on-location headshot shoot for the staff of an office in quite some time because all my recent clients have been wanting to come to the JCP Home Studio here in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  So last week I loaded up all my mobile studio gear onto my Rock N Roller multi-cart (model R10 if you wanted to know) and headed to Express Professionals near Uptown.  I had met one of their staff, Ruby, at a networking event.

Albuquerque Couple Headshots for Business with Heather & Cameron

Albuquerque Couple Headshots for Business with Heather & Cameron

I met Heather at a marketing seminar put on by good friend Roger of Beacon Marketing.  She contacted me about having headshots made, but for couples, and that she really liked the black background of some of my other headshots.  The black background is getting very popular with clients!  She owns W2 Welding with Cameron.  When photographing a couple who work together and have a personal relationship, I try to portray both in a single photo.  That means having some physical contact, but keeping the pose looking a bit formal and with a touch of, "we get things done, together!"  I think we were successful in conveying that with the photos we made in the JCP Home Studio here in Albuquerque, New Mexico!

Sunset Rise Edgewood New Mexico Rural Land Drone Video

Sunset Rise Edgewood New Mexico Rural Land Drone Video

This is a 4K drone video made of a rural land property in Edgewood, New Mexico for an out of state client.  He asked for ideas of what to name the property.  Since the land rose from east to west, and I was there at sunset, I suggested "Sunset Rise" and he liked it and used it!
