Professional Food Photography for Cakes and Baked Goods in ABQ
It was great to visit Roxy’s Cake Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a fun food photography photo shoot where I finally got to use one of my new Duo Boards! What you see is called the Whitewash design which appears a very realistic white painted wood slats. Can you believe it’s not really wood? Roxy’s bakery has only been open about 6 weeks! She is located right in the Coronado Mall with its own exterior entrance. If you like Chantilly cakes and you like to support a local small business, then this is the cake shop for you!! Thank you Roxy for a great food photo shoot and assisting with the reflector for the hero shot!
Pizza is one of my favorite foods to photograph, and not just because I usually get to take some how with me after a food photography shoot in Albuquerque! It’s one of my favorites because of the number of options of how to photograph it, from all inclusive hero shots like the one above, to cropped detail shots like the one below. On assignment for Grubhub again, I had a fun and tasty photoshoot at Pizza Blaze in the Uptown area of ABQ.
Dessert Photography from all angles in Albuquerque
This series of food photography photos from Luca Italian Bistro in Albuquerque, New Mexico feature the sweeter side of the menu with a series of desserts (part 1, part 2). Thanks to the fantastic presentation of the desserts on their plates, it was easy to make delicious looking photos of these Italian specialties. From detailed macro shots, to table top presentations, I created for the client a variety of professional dessert photos to help them attract more customers. Here at Jason Collin Photography, the goal is to maximize the impact my photos make for clients to help them get more business. My photos make money for my clients!
Variety in creative food photography in Albuquerque
This is part two in a series of professional food photos I made for Luca Italian Bistro in Albuquerque, New Mexico (see part 1). The variety of dishes presented to me allowed me to make a variety of different food photographs, from feature shots, to hero shots, to macro detail shots. Using a very simple lighting setup of one light and a reflector still gave me the flexibility to take any kind of shot I wanted to all in a very small space, making minimum impact on the daily operation of the restaurant. This is the photography experience I deliver for clients, not just receiving the best commercial photos in Albuquerque, but also as a minimal impact during the photo shoot.
Back out visiting restaurants around Albuquerque, New Mexico for UberEats took me to local chain Pizza 9 for a professional food photography photoshoot using the natural light techniques required by the client. A good dark, contrasting table was available to shoot on by good window light as well. I setup my Sony a7R IV on my tripod with amazing new Sigma 50mm f/1.4 ART lens and proceeded to photograph pizza, calzones, and cheese crust bites! The food photo shoot was not the end of it for me, as I was allowed to take home the entire veggie pizza and cheese crust bites too! Thank you Pizza 9!
If you like guac or just saying the word, then . . .
For my second food photography shoot for Grubhub, I visited All things Guac!! (two exclamation points are in the actual name). I have said this before, but despite having photographed dozens of New Mexican restaurants, even at this shoot, I am still photographing dishes I have never heard of before. That was true for most of the fifteen dishes this time in fact! One I had heard of before of course, cheese quesadillas, I got to take home!
Out on a food photography assignment for UberEats in Albuquerque, New Mexico that brought me to Savory Fare Cafe Bakery Catering where I got to take a few of the mini desserts home! UberEats has strict guidelines for how to make the food photos, but in the hero shot like the one above, I can get a little bit creative. There is an option to have a hand in the photo, and the owner herself was willing to be the hand model for the hero shot! Thank you Kelsey for volunteering and the take home swag! I look forward to photographing your entire catering menu soon.
