I cannot help but feel a part of the Pacific Grove Holiday Light Parade because the staging of it takes place right on my street right in front of my house! So all I have to do is walk out my front door to see the start of the parade action. I took my camera along the route entrance to get some unique views, as well as up top from a bird’s eye viewpoint.
Candid golf event photography at Pebble Beach Golf Course
I was contacted by a Canadian company about helping them out photographing an event at famous Pebble Beach Golf Course. I would be on the 18th hole getting the second and third shots of a series of visiting executives from Canada. This meant after they teed off, I would be in position for their second shots, then hop in a golf cart and ride to the third shot location, then ride all the way back to get the next foursome’s second shots! This of course kept me on my toes while getting to enjoy the spectacular views from the 18th fairway at Pebble Beach.
Ronald Angelo Johnson speaks passionately in Albuquerque Alpha Chi 2023
One of the things I like best about photographing national conferences, is getting to hear keynote speakers I otherwise never would. Such was the case with a very passionate keynote address by Ronald Angelo Johnson at the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society event in Albuquerque in March and April 2023. Mr. Johnson was an A+ speaker to photograph. Why? Because he was always looking up and out at the audience in all directions. He is an animated speaker with has hands and expressions. He moved around even out from behind the podium. Plus, even from these silent still photos, you can hear the inspiring story he shared with the audience. It was a privilege to get to hear him speak that morning at the conference.
The 2023 Alpha Chi National Convention from all angles in Albuquerque
I spent three days and over 18 hours of photography time with the members of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society delivering over 900 edited photos of the 2023 Alpha Chi National Convention held right here in Albuquerque, New Mexico at The Clyde Hotel (formerly the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque). I got to hear two amazing keynote speakers, listen in on dozens of student presentations, and get at least one question right in a trivia contest! Thank you to the team at Alpha Chi for choosing me as your conference photographer. It was a fantastic event to be a part of.
Candid and Personal Event Photography in Albuquerque
This was a truly unique event for me to photograph in many ways. The Nexus Fellowship rented a residential house here in Albuquerque to host a week long event. It was only attended by about 30 people, and mostly in one room. I spent 21 hours over three days photographing these people sharing the most personal stories of challenges they faced and how they overcame them. How was I able to do this and not be totally conspicuous? First, thankfully the main room had three points of entry and an outside hallway system leading to all of them. So I could go around unseen to each of those three different photography vantage points. Then I had my camera in silent shooting mode, so when I took a photo, the camera was completely silent. It was by far the most personal, intimate event I ever photographed. It definitely had an impact on me and I will carry things I heard and learned during those 21 hours with me going forward. Thank you to Inaam and the entire Equity Lab team for choosing me as your event photographer!
Event Photography for Non-Profit in Albuquerque New Mexico
I have done a shoot for Rio Grande Food Project in the past, and participated in each of the past few years in the Hike to End Hunger charity event, and then this year was a combo of the two where I was glad this time to be able to volunteer my services to photograph the 2022 event. The Hike to End Hunger is a fundraising event for the non-profit organization and a chance to feel like part of the community and make a difference in improving it, plus you get to spend a morning walking over the Rio Grande River, and then along Bosque trails. As you can see, many people brought their dogs too! Thank you to Kathi and the team for another event that helps the community and gets everyone outside.
