I met Lisa at a BNI networking event some weeks ago where we first discussed making new headshots for her. Like many people that I photograph, she was normally not thrilled to have her photo taken. She even said she'd rather be at the dentist that morning than at the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico for her professional business headshot photo shoot!

This area is near El Morro National Monument also, which I only had time to stop at very briefly! Well, I am sorry to mention all these cool places, but only show you rural New Mexico land! And, due to circumstances, I had to fly in the early afternoon light, which is not ideal. I used my darkest PolarPro ND16 filter to still try and achieve the ideal shutter speed to frame rate ratio of 2:1 for my Mavic Pro drone recording 4K video at 24fps. I used my new Garuda LUTs from Looks and Luts to color grade the video in Final Cut Pro X to get the most out of the scenery.

Standing in the base of the curved rock formation that produces the echoes the place is named for, I found the shape of the rock wall to be fascinating and photographed it from multiple angles. If you have received a business card from me you have already seen my favorite angle of it (check it out here), but I like these for their partial views of the upper edge as well.
Read MoreI took my new Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 G2 lens to the 30th Anniversary Rio Grande Celtic Festival and Highland Games at Balloon Fiesta Park to see what kind of olde worlde action I could photograph. There was not a tremendous amount of organization, so I did not hear the name of any of these feats of strength you see pictured below. I will describe them as I saw them. The first are photos of a square of perhaps hay and stone being tossed up over a high bar like a pole vaulter, but with a pitchfork! The next I would call throwing a very heavy lollipop as far as you can. Then the other could be carrying a telephone pole until you find where you want to toss it! Then there was dancing and music too! No idea what the dances were called either! I ate a great Welsh cake, though, with lemon curd on it!

I drove my Jeep Renegade Trailhawk down 7 miles of unmaintained dirt road to reach this location for a rural land client. While waiting for the sun to go down to make the last of the photos I needed to, I flew my DJI Mavic Pro drone over the desert and toward the mountains. The wind was strong, giving high wind warnings on the drone's remote control, so I dared not go higher nor closer to the mountains.
