Appearing on Monterey On Tonight for a Live Interview!
Recently, I had the opportunity to appear on Monterey On Tonight, hosted by Gary Morris, and talk about my photography and drone work, my path to Pacific Grove, and the role visual storytelling plays for local businesses and individuals on the Monterey Peninsula. I submitted a bio and was told the interview would be about 10 minutes long, but that is all so I did not know exactly what to expect. Gary was most curious about the drone portion of my business so one of his producers pulled up my recent drone video of a surprise engagement and played it! Gary loved it and I loved having the drone video itself play on the air. I really enjoyed the overall experience of being on Monterey On Tonight and hope to be on again some day. Thank you to Hannah (who I met doing a radio interview 5 days earlier) for asking if I wanted to be on the show and for Gary for having me on!

Since I first started my photography business back in June of 2009, I have always been involved in networking with various business and photography groups. The latest group I have become a member of is the Rotary Club of Pacific Grove. This is something that was not even on my radar just a few months ago, but I met a member at Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce event and he invited me to be a guest at a Rotary Club luncheon. I went and enjoyed it, and then went back again, and I soon found myself looking forward to the bi-weekly luncheons. Before I even became an official member, I was allowed to be a judge in a car show they put on! I am very thankful to have been so warmly welcomed from the start by the PG Rotary Club and look forward to serving the local community through events the club puts on throughout the year.

The second New Member Orientation event of the year held by the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce nearly tripled in size! It’s a great event where new members, and old, can really learn what the chamber can offer a local PG business. As an ambassador for the chamber, I attended welcoming the new members, and of course, as a professional photographer, brought my camera to help out the chamber by making photos of everyone holding fun “I’m In” signs. Networking events seem to be dreaded. Something a business owner needs to do. However, not all networking events are created equally. I always bring my camera with me to Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce events, and this Biz Crafty networking event was no exception. I love to get candid photos at events, which is helped by people really enjoying themselves. Look at these candids, and you will see a lot of people having a very good time, yet this is still networking! Candid event photography is my speciality as I find the reactions that will be remembered for years.

Photographing ribbon cutting events in Albuquerque, New Mexico is usually pretty fun and exciting, and the one for Rusty Taco in the Coronado Mall was no exception. The cold temperatures outside did nothing to slow down the staff of AHCC getting everyone ready to celebrate this ribbon cutting event late on a Friday evening. You have to be careful with those ceremonial scissors though!!

The Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce did it yet again with another amazingly fun, energetic and informative networking event right here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The first Thursday of every month is the Get Crafty With Your Biz event where three local business owners briefly tell their own personal business story and the conclude with a piece of business advice for the attendees. It is a great format that let's one network and mingle, but also here a real local business success story.
