I had the chance to go west for a rural land property shoot in Grants, New Mexico this week. I most often go north or east of Albuquerque. This was a completely new area for me. This property was not that far from the city of Grants itself, but it rested high up in the shadows of a black mesa over looking an interstate, train tracks and an airport! I also usually only shoot very flat land properties, where this one was nearly completely rolling foothills allowing for more creative sunset landscape composition.
If you think a headshot photoshoot means you have to wear stuffy clothes, and stand in stuff poses, and have a forced smile, then take a look at these creative and free-spirited headshots with Mariluz! I did not have to say anything, she did everything! When you get someone like this in front of your lens, it is a rare treat for a photographer. The fantastic photos just come out one after the other as they did during our headshot photo shoot here at the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She even helped with her friend's headshot photo shoot before hers coaching her!
If you are having a grand openingribbon cutting event at a donut shop, it is wise to have it at 9am in the morning, which the new Donut Mart location on San Mateo Blvd in Albuquerque, New Mexico did! Thus, there was a huge turnout. I was there with my Nikon D750 representing the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce, which hosted the event.
I first met Cheryl at a special event where I had a table displaying my photo and drone work. She won a door prize at the event! Afterward, she came by my table and we talked about making new headshots for her. Being a good networking and business person, I followed up with her a few times and I was happy when she made her appointment to visit the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a professional headshot photo session!
I visited Deer Canyon Preserve near Mountainair, New Mexico two times in four days on rural land photography assignments. This video is a compilation of flying my DJI Mavic Prodrone both evenings. This is a private, gated community that has its own hiking and horse trails.
Going through my recent rural land photography archives while out in remote places in New Mexico, I was reminded of being brushed by a strong thunderstorm. It does not rain often in the winter in the greater Albuquerque area of New Mexico, much less a thunderstorm. Thus, my surprise at having to stay close to my Jeep Renegade Trailhawk in case a deluge broke from the sky or lightning started striking the ground.
I photograph a lot of ribbon cutting, grand opening events in Albuquerque, New Mexico. However, the one at ClearLink Skin & Medical for Dr. Rachell Davis was one of the best! From the energy and atmosphere, to the actually healthy food on hand to the generous door prizes given out, this was an outstanding grand opening ribbon cutting event! This was organized by the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce whom I have recently become a member of!
