A Return to Candid Event Photography at UNM for CSA in 2022
Now that events are happening once more in Albuquerque after the pandemic put a long stop to them, it was great to return to UNM for the Computer Science Alliance Event and to work with Paige and Yolanda again. It was a long 3 years in between this recent event and the last one I photographed for them back in June of 2019. For this event, teachers in STEM come from around the state to learn and share teaching techniques. They sounded so interesting in fact, it almost made me miss being back in school! Almost. I would not pass up a chance to build a rocket one more time though! Thank you to Paige and Yolanda for continuing to choose me as the photographer for CSA and for putting on a great event at UNM.
Brian purchased a new camper van to use as an Airbnb rental for adventurous people in Albuquerque, New Mexico looking for a unique way of exploring and sleeping in the state. The best way to get the camper booked every weekend is to have professional photos made of it to feature on the camper’s Airbnb listing. Brian chose a site with mountains in the background and parked offroad to highlight the adventure aspect of choosing this camper van as an Airbnb. Having recently graduated and wanting headshot portraits to celebrate the occasion, Maria visited the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico with her mom to have a variety of photos made, some with her master’s white collar on, some with different sashes, and some with cap on or off. It is a complicated process to have the cap just right, the sash just right, and especially that white master’s collar is particularly troublesome to get to stay in place! In the end, Maria chose 7 headshot portraits and I am very pleased with the results were were able to get. It was a true team effort with myself, Maria, and her mom all helping to get these photos! Tarot Cards featured in creative product photography in Albuquerque
Product photography photo shoots are some of the most interesting types of photo shoots I do here at the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico because of the opportunity to be creative depending on the type of product. For this shoot, tarot cards were featured in a number of creative ways thanks largely to the help of the person who actually made the cards, Darshanie of Lovely Om. She drew the pictures for each tarot card over the course of ten years! Along with her partner Markus, we came up with a fan spread of the cards, some shots featuring a book on tarot and that particular card described on the page, plus my favorite, just spread out some tarot cards and I look for the best angle, kind of freestyle shooting! Working outside in for professional apartment photography in Albuquerque
Professional commercial real estate photography for apartment complexes in Albuquerque involves both indoor and outdoor shooting. As I made my way around Rock Creek Apartments, it is my preference to get the outdoor photos done first, as you never know when the weather can change. Once done with the exterior photos, I move on to the interiors based on what spaces are open at present and likely to get busy sooner rather than later. Plus, the leasing office slash community space had by far the most visual appeal for photographs, so this is where I spent most of my time. Ironically, photographing the interior of the empty apartment units was actually the least time consuming portion of the shoot! Thank you to the team at Rock Creek Apartments for escorting me around!
Modern professional headshots for actors in Albuquerque
More and more actors are moving from L.A. to Albuquerque and I am more than glad to help them with a great new headshot as they transfer their actor careers to the desert. Such was the case with Shelley, who recently moved from L.A., and wanted updated headshots for resuming her acting career right here in Albuquerque. What you can get in L.A. you can get here in ABQ too, including having a professional MUA (makeup artist) present for the shoot. I have worked with Samanthia before on another headshot shoot and hope to feature her more and more for actor headshot sessions, and even for business headshots looking to standout that much more. Professional event photography at an awards event at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya
Event photography is really starting to return in 2022 as I went to the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa for a multi-day conference for employees of PayneWest. I actually made 30 headshots to start out the event, then returned the next day to photograph the awards ceremony seen here. While I still have reservations about being in a room full of hundreds of people who just flew in from all over the country, and I still wore my N95 mask during the entire event, it was also nice to feel the energy of a live event with everyone extra excited to see each other after a long time apart.
