Planning for dramatic skies for rural land real estate photography
I have been spending a lot of time in Cibola County, New Mexico lately! This visit was very purposeful for rural land real estate photography client Hemingway Land Company. I had to wait over 2 weeks for there to finally be clouds in this area before I could go and make these photographs because as you can see, clouds add a lot of visual impact to these images that plain blue skies would not. Careful weather checking and planning went into making this shoot happen on just the right day to deliver the best results for my client. Getting the value of personal branding professional photos in ABQ
Natalie contacted me wanting headshots and personal branding photography made on location here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was a Covid-19 safe outdoor shoot that produced the same studio quality results I do for all my clients. She suggested the duck pond on the UNM Campus which provided a nice green background and some seated pose options as well. In today’s solo entrepreneur world, marketing and branding yourself starts with having an outstanding headshot and a selection of personal branding photos to use on social media. I believe professional photography is actually the single best value in personal branding there is. Thank you Natalie for choosing me as your photographer and to Jessica for assisting on this shoot.
I have been spending a lot of time in the desert northwest of Rio Rancho, New Mexico the past two weeks for rural land real estate photography. I am shooting three properties per evening, circling back to each of the three to make one of my signature HDRsunset photos. Here are some of the highlights of the past two weeks of being out in the desert with the jack rabbits, coyotes, and tarantulas!
Standing for 160 million years hidden in New Mexico
The vast open spaces of New Mexico are actually filled with hidden gems, like La Ventana Natural Arch, a 160 million year old rock formation that spans 135 feet and gets down to only 25 feet at its narrowest point. Amazing something make of sandstone has survived that long, though eventually, it will return to dust in who knows how many more millions of years! Check out the map below to see this natural wonder in person.
This was the first of a series of photoshoots for Haltom Orthodontics that will have me traveling to Los Lunas and Grants next. Before sunrise this morning I was up loading up my portable photo studio gear as the only time all four doctors could be there was 7am! It takes a while to setup so I was there shortly after 6:30am. Everyone was plenty awake though for their headshots not surprisingly all having great smiles as well! After that was a team photo with all four orthodontists, then a father-son photo, which I did not know was the case until after the shoot. I look forward to the next photoshoot in Grants.
During a rural land real estate shoot in the desert NW of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, I had an unexpected guest show up, a very large tarantula! I was waiting for the sun to go down to get the last shots I make at these shoots, my signature HDRsunset shots, when coming down the road was this arachnid. I ran over to the Jeep to take out my other camera which had a 70-200mm lens on it to make these photos from a safe distance! The tarantula obliged quite well choosing to walk further down the road rather than turn into the desert. I am glad I saw this spider in the open and did not see it crawling on my foot when I was in the desert getting the sunset shot!
Drone Video combined with the best interior photography style
I was contacted directly by the Geoffrey, the owner of this house in the Ridgecrest neighborhood of Albuquerque, New Mexico to make drone video and interior photos, plus twilight photos as he has chosen to sell it by owner. I spent a good amount of time meeting with him to discuss the photography and drone video of the house and then on site several times to get a wide variety of photographs to help him sell it as quickly as possible and for the best possible price. Drone video shows the property in context with the surrounding neighborhood, and the numerous interior photos I made using a combination of styles such as flambient, HDR, and detail really cover all the highlights of the design of the home. The twilight photos cap everything off with starry sky views for that wow factor in the listing. Thank you Geoffrey for choosing me as your real estate photographer and drone pilot!
