During a rural land real estate shoot in the desert NW of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, I had an unexpected guest show up, a very large tarantula! I was waiting for the sun to go down to get the last shots I make at these shoots, my signature HDRsunset shots, when coming down the road was this arachnid. I ran over to the Jeep to take out my other camera which had a 70-200mm lens on it to make these photos from a safe distance! The tarantula obliged quite well choosing to walk further down the road rather than turn into the desert. I am glad I saw this spider in the open and did not see it crawling on my foot when I was in the desert getting the sunset shot!
Drone Video combined with the best interior photography style
I was contacted directly by the Geoffrey, the owner of this house in the Ridgecrest neighborhood of Albuquerque, New Mexico to make drone video and interior photos, plus twilight photos as he has chosen to sell it by owner. I spent a good amount of time meeting with him to discuss the photography and drone video of the house and then on site several times to get a wide variety of photographs to help him sell it as quickly as possible and for the best possible price. Drone video shows the property in context with the surrounding neighborhood, and the numerous interior photos I made using a combination of styles such as flambient, HDR, and detail really cover all the highlights of the design of the home. The twilight photos cap everything off with starry sky views for that wow factor in the listing. Thank you Geoffrey for choosing me as your real estate photographer and drone pilot!
Farmland Rural Real Estate Photography in Torrance County
One of the staples of my business here at Jason Collin Photography is rural land real estate photography. It has brought me to over half the counties in New Mexico and to all areas of the state. These photos are from Moriarty which is in Torrance County New Mexico. Adjacent to farmland, this is the kind of high desert real estate that gives you wide open sunset views. If you would like to own these views, check out Hemingway Land Company. Or, you can contact me for a fine art print to have in your home and office!
Longtime networking friend Lisa contacted me about making headshots for the entire team at FatPipe New Mexico, which is a fantastic coworking space in Albuquerque and other cities around New Mexico. I actually normally visit FatPipe ABQ once a week every Wednesday morning for 1 Million Cups, but with Covid-19, it has gone virtual meaning I do not leave my desk at home. I did get to actually use the coworking space recently as I was without power at home for two days. With very short notice Lisa had a work space for me ready to go when I arrived, with of course very fast wifi. Thank you Lisa and Stewart for choosing me as your headshot photographer!
With autumn approaching, here is a preview to get you read for golden sunsets over the desert. This photo was made near the Toadstool Hoodoos in far northwest Rio Rancho, New Mexico. You can access this area with a capable off-road vehicle and enjoy a private sunset. Or, you can purchase a fine art print of this view for your home and office. Use the buttons below to contact me today for fine art print options.
Even for someone who has been to hundreds of rural land real estate properties in more than half the counties in New Mexico, there are still some areas I have not yet been. Such was the case when I visited Quemado, New Mexico for Hemingway Land recently. In the far west-central part of New Mexico, near no major highway, nor any city, Quemado is one would expect a quiet place with echos of when it was a more bustling town. If you are looking for a quiet place to have a weekend getaway, nearby Quemado Lake makes a visit to Quemado a hidden gem exploring opportunity. I recommend staying at Casa Azul, everything you want in a B&B experience with a very friendly owner who is a great cook as well!
Longtime and one of my favorite photography clients, Jalene, asked if I could make some candid portraits of her and other board members of Save New Mexico. If you have followed the blog of Jason Collin Photography for some time, you will see I photograph people, organizations, and events from across the political spectrum. This was a very fun shoot where Jalene’s abundance of personality made it easy to get fun candids of the group, and we also made headshots for everyone on location too. I even recorded some B-roll video that was used on the website! Thank you Jalene for continuing to choose me as your photographer for everything from theatre performances to headshots!
