My work as a rural land real estate drone pilot takes me to some very small and out of the way places, like Regina, New Mexico. You probably have never heard of it, but I know it well! It’s northeast of Cuba, New Mexico (heard of it??) and as you can see from the 4K drone video above, has some great views of mesas and mountains.
Red Rock Mesas of McKinley County New Mexico Drone Video
Back out in the New Mexico desert for the first time in a while for rural land real estate photography. This time I was in McKinley County New Mexico somewhere west of Grants and east of Thoreau. The obvious highlight of this area were the many red rock mesas creating a dramatic view and landscape. I sent the drone up and over the mesas showing the view from atop, ground level, and in between. If you want to own these views, contact Hemingway Land Company.
Ladron Peak is 20 miles from anything in New Mexico desert
Driving further down dirt road than I nearly ever did before on a rural land shoot, I passed by Ladron Peak along the way to my actual destination. After nearly 20 miles on seldom traveled dirt road, I pulled over to send the drone up to capture views of Ladron Peak and the surrounding mesas. Even from the view of my DJI Mavic 3 Cine drone, I saw no one and nothing in this area. If you are looking for a remote mountain peak to hike, Ladron Peak is for you!
When light and sky and clouds come together for rural land photography
In the past 4 years I have photographed hundreds and hundreds of rural land real estate properties all over New Mexico. Every now and then the light and the sky make for an exceptional background to what in reality is just an empty piece of high desert. Such was the case for this property in Torrance County New Mexico, near Moriarty. The land had just one bush on it, and otherwise just foot high grass. However, thanks to an infinite sky filled with soft sunlight and painted with just the right amount of clouds, these rural land photos stand out. This does not happen by accident, as I waited over 2 weeks for just the right day for this client, even driving halfway out there (50 miles round trip!) only to turn around as it became too cloudy. This is the experience and professionalism I offer real estate clients. No one has photographed and flown over more rural land properties than I have. If you are interested in this land in particular, check out Hemingway Land for more info.
Even for someone who has been to hundreds of rural land real estate properties in more than half the counties in New Mexico, there are still some areas I have not yet been. Such was the case when I visited Quemado, New Mexico for Hemingway Land recently. In the far west-central part of New Mexico, near no major highway, nor any city, Quemado is one would expect a quiet place with echos of when it was a more bustling town. If you are looking for a quiet place to have a weekend getaway, nearby Quemado Lake makes a visit to Quemado a hidden gem exploring opportunity. I recommend staying at Casa Azul, everything you want in a B&B experience with a very friendly owner who is a great cook as well!
Sunrise drone flight for amazing results for the client
Here at Jason Collin Photography, I find in photography and drone video, getting up for the sunrise is never a bad thing and often produces amazing results. Such was the case at this luxury rural real estate property in Arizona that I just happened to be staying at in the guest cabin allowing me an easy walk to the large pond right on the property to catch this stunning sunrise with both the drone and my mirrorless camera. This was a specific request by the client to capture sunrise content, and I included it in the overall property drone video I delivered to the client. I liked the sunrise drone video clips so much, I wanted to feature them, even though they are brief, in their own drone video.
This was a return for me to both Rio Arriba County, New Mexico, and also Sierra Negra mountain. I was first in this area over 18 months ago and made one of my favorite landscape photos of New Mexico, so much so I had a print made and it is hanging on the wall in the dining room. The skies were of a different level of drama this time featuring bold clouds, and therefore made the mountain look totally different. Also, I have drone video this time featuring the mountain in the background.
