Listening to what my clients want is something I like to think I do very well. So to read Bettina’s review of our headshot shoot was very satisfying to me as she said, “took the time to learn what my vision / goal was.” For her shoot, she wanted black and gray backgrounds, and I made sure that the position of her glasses relevant to the camera lens looked the best (i.e. no artifacting causing doubles nor any glare). Bettina was very good in front of the camera, so we were able to take a few shots, proof them together, then refine things exactly in the second round of headshots. Then to receive such a wonderful review made me happy knowing I was able to deliver great headshots for my client. Thank you again Bettina!
Studio like results for portraits in the park in Albuquerque
In addition to making candid portraits of Indu’s 1 year old son, I also made group portraits of her extended family at Altura Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The sun came out from behind the trees in a few of the shots just right to add an amazing visual element to the portraits. Since I use the same lighting I would in studio out on location, the results are spectacular portraits combining the best elements of outdoor and in studio photography. Staying in Albuquerque for real estate photography
After traveling around the state (and beyond) for real estate photography recently, it was nice to have a professional residential real estate shoot right here in Albuquerque. I have known Dan McGirk almost since I first moved to ABQ, so was glad to get the call from him to photograph more of his real estate listings. I really appreciate that Dan appreciates the benefits of choosing a professional photographer to shoot a residential home rather than the listing agent merely making cell phone photos of a few rooms. The photos alone may not sell the house, but proper professional photos will get more potential buyers to schedule a viewing. Thank you Dan for continuing to choose me as your real estate photographer!
Headshots for the interior designer herself on location
What better location for an interior designer to have a headshot shoot than in the space she designed herself? That is how we ended the interiors shoot I did for Bailey in Ruidoso. The natural light was so good in the space, I just put on my 50mm lens and made all these headshots without any off camera lighting. As always, I wanted to capture as much personality as possible, so there are some usual smiles and some laughing photos as well as unusual foreground composition headshots. Thank you Bailey for helping with the shoot and then being great in front of the camera for your headshots!
Sunrise volunteers help the community in New Mexico
Early on a Saturday morning I drove to an area south of Albuquerque to photograph a community event put on by Roadrunner Food Bank and Wells Fargo. This was the first time to photograph an event at sunrise that was not a triathlon for me! In a very short amount of time the team of volunteers and staff setup and organized a very efficient space for giving out three types of food donations. My job was to photograph this in a respectful manner that highlighted the community outreach. Everyone was so friendly and in such good spirits despite the hard circumstances so many are living through now in Covid-19.
Back in Torrance County New Mexico for more rural land real estate photography for Hemingway Land. The timing was perfect to shoot this property on a Friday, as Fridays are pizza nights for us, and where is the best pizza place in all of New Mexico? Well, right in Torrance County in the town of Edgewood. So in between shooting daylight and sunset and cactus shots, I got to eat my favorite pizza in the world! I call that a win-win and a great way to end the work week.
Willie’s second headshot shoot this summer in Albuquerque
I really appreciate returning clients to Jason Collin Photography, so I was very glad to get a text from Willie asking about another headshot shoot, just after we had the first one in May. That time was in studio, this time was out on location in downtown Albuquerque. The main benefit of shooting on location is that you get your own unique background that I will never be able to replicate for another client. Willie had seen the headshots I made for KRQE meteorologist Connor Lewis near the Civic Plaza area of downtown and wanted similar, though I told him I will not be able to get exactly the same results.
