Read MoreI was actually out scouting a location for a client (WSI Web Enhancers) for making a panoramic aerial drone photo, when with the last remaining battery life, I decided to give the new Hyperlapse mode a try. This very short 5 seconds of video took the drone over 4 minutes to make as every 2 seconds it took a photo, in total over 100 photos make up this 5 second clip! I will soon be going out making more purposeful (and longer) Hyperlapse videos of Albuqureque.

I have never seen a town wedged into a very narrow, very steep valley like Bisbee is. The topography forces some creative home building, such as walls for leveling out the property. What do the people of Bisbee do with these walls? Many of them embedded colorful glass bottles into them! And the narrow gaps between houses? Well you might find and art museum amount of paintings hanging up! I highly recommend visiting Bisbee someday and feeling the great vibe of this hidden gem of a town.
Read MoreReturning client Aristech, located in Belen, New Mexico, this time needed professional product shots of a very large (7 feet tall!) item on a green screen. Regular readers of Jason Collin Photography may recall that last fall I made a wide variety of commercial photos at Aristech of the team producing this type of item. That was a very complicated shoot in terms of moving around the facility. This large product shoot was complicated in its own way due to the size of the item and its highly reflective surface. The overhead lighting could not be adjusted other than being turned completely off. After trying a couple of different lighting setups, I finally settled on one overhead light only on the time. You can check out the BTS shot below showing the entire green screen setup.
Read MoreIt had been a long time since I was last in San Miguel County New Mexico on a rural land real estate photography shoot for Hemingway Land. This time it was a double property shoot going between both pieces of land to get sunset shots of each. This is a science of sort staying at one property as long as possible to get the best sunset shots of it, while still leaving time to get to the last property for its sunset shots before the sun dips below the horizon. As you can see though, I was also at these properties during the day time to capture the best clouds possible per the client’s request. I actually went back to the property a third time the next day because just as I arrived all the clouds disappeared from the sky on that first, very carefully planned and timed visit for clouds! That is the level of commitment I bring to delivering the best quality rural land photos I can to my clients.
