I am often out in remote Rio Rancho on weekday evenings in the midst of a 55+ property rural land real estate photography assignment for Hemingway Land Company. On a recent shoot clouds were heavy on the horizon and I was counting on the sun dropping below them, just above the horizon, and allowing me to get some of my signature HDR sunset photos. The sun did in fact reveal itself, but with a fiery wrath!
Read MoreOver two long days of food photography in Santa Fe, New Mexico, I got to know El Paisano Supermarket and its owner Miguel pretty well! I spent nearly 10 hours in total photographing the food, aisles, and piñatas in this unique market. Featured here are a selection of foods from the restaurant and carniceria. In rapid succession meal after meal was brought in front of my lens. Miguel even helped out holding the reflector for many of the shots to help things go as efficiently as possible during the shoot. Really, all the staff pitched in during these two marathon shoots which lead to the great results you see below.

We then met for a 1-on-1 as it were meeting to get to know each other better and to see if our businesses would be a good match to eventually work together. We have not had that particular chance to work together yet, but we did have a photo shoot and drone flight together out in a random desert setting off of Highway 550 west of Bernalillo, New Mexico. Read MoreIt was a very interesting evening photographing the NAWBO 17th Annual Legislative Speak Out in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the Embassy Suites by Hilton. This event featured an innovative format where people running for and currently in political office sat at a table with attendees to have a discussion based on three presentations given by different speakers. After each presentation the politicians would get up and rotate to another table getting to know and converse with another group of people. This was a very clever idea and the conversations I heard were all civil and constructive! Thank you Sue and DJ for bringing me on as the photographer for this very unique event!

Thus, I was extra excited to get a UberEats food photography assignment for The Acres which features comfort vegetarian food, as they describe it at their Albuquerque, New Mexico location. Shawn and his staff were very prepared and helped out, with one waitress even hand modeling in the above shot1 And the topper, I got to take the green chile veggie cheeseburger to go! Thanks Shawn!
