In the past three years, I have photographed hundreds of rural land real estate properties in New Mexico, and now I have photographed my first in Colorado. This property was a great introduction to Las Animas County and its mountain views and sweeping green pines. This piece of land in particular had a high point hill on it allowing me to get some exceptional views. If you would like to own these views, check out Hemingway Land.
Read MoreIn my car photography career, I have had the opportunity to photograph a lot of expensive cars, including a Rolls-Royce Wraith over $350k (and even drive it too!). However, the Duesenberg Model X photographed in Albuquerque, New Mexico is above and beyond any other car in terms of both value and rarity. This Duesenberg model is just one of five still in existence in the world! Who owns one of those other examples? No less than Jay Leno! The owner of this Model X is selling to to replace it with a Duesenberg Model J. He hired me to make photographs to help sell it for the highest price possible, as well as make drone video of the car in motion on Tramway Blvd.
Read MoreNeeding a signature look of Albuquerque for their client, WSI Web Enhancers asked me what I think that would be. They sent me a few samples from other cities, and most of those included water. Well, the only water around Albuquerque is the Rio Grande River, so I knew I needed to incorporate that in the 360 panorama drone photo I was to make for them. That same evening there was a spectacular sunset in the making, so I took my drone to an area near the river and put it into position to capture the Rio and the Albuquerque city skyline plus the Sandia Mountains as the background. You can see the results for yourself above. Both WSI and their client were very, very happy with the final 360 drone product!
Read MoreBack out on another commercial drone photography shoot for WSP in Albuquerque, New Mexico, this time getting aerial drone photos of all four pedestrian bridges that cross Tramway Blvd at the foot of the Sandia Mountains. This is the second time (see Rio Bravo Blvd Bridge) I have photographed bridges to help WSP get contracts. I have also made headshots of their entire team too! Read MoreIf you find yourself in Roswell, New Mexico and you want to do some non-alien exploring, nearby Bottomless Lakes State Park is a hidden gem worth seeking out. The lakes are actually sinkholes filled with water, and as always, to my disappointment with such things, not truly bottomless! Some are up to 90 feet deep though, which for the desert, is pretty far down. You can hike all along the ~6 lakes even circumnavigating the rims of each which offer unique views adding even more to the sense of bottomlessness of the water. I had both my camera and drone with me to capture these lakes from all angles. Read MoreOn a recent trip to Angel Fire, New Mexico for a rural land client, I sent my DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone up and was shown a landscape totally different than from where I stood surrounded by tall trees. Going up a hundred feet allows for unique landscape photography. Combining dramatic clouds filling the sky, with the tall pine treetops, and the distant mountains, these drone aerial photos are some of my personal favorites that I have ever made in New Mexico. Here on the Jason Collin Photography blog I always like to show you unique views of known places. Angel Fire is a ski resort town, but I have actually never seen it in snow despite three trips there! So if you have only seen it in snow, from these drone photos, you can see how visiting Angel Fire in the spring after the snow melts reveals it is still a very special place with amazing scenery, especially from the drone’s viewpoint!
Read MorePart of my drone photography work for WSI Web Enhancers took me to downtown Albuquerque at sunset to get beautiful, attention grabbing drone imagery for WSI to in turn wow their own client with. Mother Nature greatly cooperated with perfect clouds and warm setting sunlight to paint the view of downtown ABQ with, and for me to send up my DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone up to capture. I was west of the downtown skyline so I could provide both a more unique view of the city (most photos show it from the east) and also to have the Sandia Mountains serve as the backdrop. I am very excited to offer 360 panorama drone photos on Jason Collin Photography for my clients!
