Photographing and driving a Rolls-Royce Wraith!
This past summer I went up to Santa Fe to photograph an Alfa Romeo Spider for James who was selling the vehicle through Bonhams Auction House. James contacted me about photographing even more of his cars, the first of which I am featuring is his personal favorite car, a stunning Rolls-Royce Wraith. I really found myself getting caught up in photographing this car. I am much more of a mid-engined supercar fan, but I could not help but start to fall under the allure of Rolls-Royce. In editing these photos I appreciated the boldness even more in the final images I was able to create.
What’s it like to drive a Rolls-Royce?
Then James asked me if I’d like to drive it. Even though no one else was around, I still asked, “me??” It was just a drive through his neighborhood, but I could tell all I had heard about what a Rolls-Royce was like was true. The very, very smooth ride quality, imperceptible transmission shifts, and then the near total road noise isolation in the cabin. This car has power too, as there was one chance to floor it and feel that V-12 go! Of course I was a little nervous driving a car close to $350,000! Thank you very much James for the chance to drive such a special car!
