Best rural land real estate photographer for Cibola County New Mexico
My first rural land real estate photography shoot of 2021 had me right back to where I spent much of the last few months of 2020, in the El Morro area of Cibola County, New Mexico. The snow had 95% melted from most areas, except north facing slopes, as you can see in the photos, especially from the drone aerial photos. This particular property extended all the way up and over the mesa, which was a tricky little climb for me in the snow with two cameras and a tripod! This is the physical ability and professionalism I have to make sure, even in difficult conditions, I get the best photographic coverage of a property for this client.
Reaching the near impossible for rural land real estate photography
In March I made a difficult 10 mile drive down very rough roads to reach several rural land real estate properties in El MorroCibola County New Mexico. I was hoping on my return in a fairer weather month the roads and conditions would be better, but in fact they were worse with more mud and more exposed lava rock to carefully find a way over in my Jeep! At least I had the experience of making the drive already to know what to expect. I detailed my first experience driving out there in great detail in this blog post. Thankfully, when I finally reached the properties (neither had a road to it, I had to drive across open desert) I was treated to good skies, clouds, and ultimately, a very nice sunset to make the headline images that help my client sell his rural land real estate fast.
What it takes to navigate 10 miles offroad where no roads go
This week I made my second trip this month to the El Morro area of Cibola County, New Mexico on a rural land real estate shoot for Hemingway Land. Regular followers of Jason Collin Photography will note that rural land photography is a frequent, and large part of my business. However, I never really detail all that it involves logistically, and then physically, to do a shoot like this that takes me 10+ miles down poorly maintained dirt roads in my Jeep Renegade Trailhawk.
It was my pleasure to return to one of my favorite places in New Mexico this week, El Morro. I was on another assignment for Hemingway Land which took me past El Morro National Monument itself, to a very remote area 6+ miles down dirt roads. I chased clouds with my Sony a7R IV as soon as I arrived. By sunset time, only a very few lingered for me to frame for the final shots of the day. El Morro is a very special place I recommend visiting if you have never been before.
Getting a new rural land real estate shoot in El Morro is extra special to me because it is one of my favorite places to visit in New Mexico. Once off of I-40, you seem to leave the modern world behind and escape to this hidden hamlet via Ice Caves Road. El Morro is home to the best bagel in New Mexico, in addition to a national monument. These views are from a 20-acre property that has no cell phone signal. I spent over 2.5 hours off the grid and it was fantastic.
If you liked the black & white views of El Morro National Monument I showed you earlier this week, well, this land featured here is for sale and about a 15 minute drive to the monument. Plus, you get these sunset views and on special evenings like this one, a purple twilight sky too! Contact Hemingway Land to make this your home, or second home! I was having to will the clouds away all afternoon, and finally just before sunset a sliver of sky opened up just above the horizon allowing the sun to blaze through for me to get these sunset HDR photos. And to fly my Mavic Pro drone one more time producing one of the best into the sun shots I have made to date.
