You know a photo shoot is going to be interesting when the client wants to involve a classic car and Big Sur! Renada called me up and started to desribe what she was envisioning. She was traveling from Atlanta with friends and had dreamed of driving a 1961 pink Cadillac convertible along the California coast. She also imagined the clothes, the locations, the look, the feeling, and having her friends there to experience it with her.

Read MoreI don’t know if I ever started a shoot at 9pm before, let alone 9pm on a Friday, but that’s just what I did taking my camera and gimbal to Deja Blue in Seaside, California to make a branding and marketing video at a time when the jazz club is actually full of people and there is live jazz playing. It was very lively in there so it woke me up, haha when normally I’d be winding down. This video contains mostly un-staged clips. All the band shots were them performing live and me capturing live. Even most of the scenes with the Deja Blue staff and behind the bar were captured live, but also with a few staged pouring and action clips. Through this process I was able to make a marketing video showing a real Friday night in the club! Thank you to the staff of Deja Blue for being good actors when needed, and to the band for making the place come alive!
Read MoreDeep in the woods of Pebble Beach, I arrived at this job site to make in progress construction drone video for Gonzalo of Peninsula Construction. This was my second on location shoot for Gonzalo, the first being in Seaside. The majority of remaining construction at this Pebble Beach house was in the backyard putting in a new deck and putting green! This logistics were favorable for drone video at this site, with some trees, but none right overhead, not a power line in site, and Gonazalo’s crew in action working on the deck. This allowed me to get the drone in pretty close to the action, to contrast with higher establishing shots as well.
Read MoreIt was exciting when Hare Construction reached out to me about a big crane coming to one of their Pebble Beach job sites to hoist steel beams up and if I could get drone video of it. I have experience flying around cranes, and know it can result in some pretty cool drone video shots! Hare Construction is also one of my new repeat construction clients, as earlier this year I photographed one of their construction projects on Laurel Ave in Pacific Grove.

This Airbnb photography shoot in Seaside is an example of that, as Steven wanted to go well beyond simply getting the standard wide photos of every room and have staged photos as well. Of course, I still made all the standard Airbnb photos first showing the living spaces, kitchen, bathrooms, and layout of the property.
