Headshots for LinkedIn in Pacific Grove

Amanda contacted me looking for new headshots for LinkedIn and for her career as a marketing professional. She brought several outfits to try out to get the look and style she wanted. Here at the Jason Collin Photography Studio trying different looks is easy with a dedicated changing room and since I shoot tethered to a 43” TV, it is easy to find just the right look with instant results on screen. Plus, with cool music playing to set the vibe, it’s my aim to make the most relaxed and fun environment for getting headshots in the Pacific Grove / Monterey areas! Thank you Amanda for choosing me as your headshot photographer!

Last Sunset of 2024 and First Sunrise of 2025 Asilomar Beach Pacific Grove Photography

My adopted custom from Japan of the last sunset and first sunrise of the year continues in Pacific Grove California

I was introduced to the custom of going out to see the last sunset of the year, and then the first sunrise of the new year when I lived in Japan in the 2000s. It is a custom I have tried to keep each year no matter where I am in the world. This year I was back home in Pacific Grove and went to my beloved Asilomar Beach for both the sunset and sunrise, and Mother Nature provided a spectacular one for both. It was a time to reflect on my first full year in California and what I hope and want for my second one.

Pacific Grove Holiday Light Parade 2024 Event Photography

Parade right out my front door in Pacific Grove!

I cannot help but feel a part of the Pacific Grove Holiday Light Parade because the staging of it takes place right on my street right in front of my house! So all I have to do is walk out my front door to see the start of the parade action. I took my camera along the route entrance to get some unique views, as well as up top from a bird’s eye viewpoint.

Pebble Beach Golf Photographer for Special Event with visiting Canadians

Pebble Beach Golf Photographer for Special Event with visiting Canadians

Candid golf event photography at Pebble Beach Golf Course

I was contacted by a Canadian company about helping them out photographing an event at famous Pebble Beach Golf Course. I would be on the 18th hole getting the second and third shots of a series of visiting executives from Canada. This meant after they teed off, I would be in position for their second shots, then hop in a golf cart and ride to the third shot location, then ride all the way back to get the next foursome’s second shots! This of course kept me on my toes while getting to enjoy the spectacular views from the 18th fairway at Pebble Beach.

Partington Cove Big Sur Photos in the fog

Partington Cove Big Sur Photos in the fog

A rugged example of the beauty of Big Sur you can hike to

Driving through Big Sur there are near infinite pullouts you can stop at and enjoy the views. However, not many of them allow you to go all the way down to the ocean itself. Partington Cove is a tiny inlet that you can access down a long gravel road enjoying the changing views of it as you descend. The cove itself is all large rocks, no beach at all. It is a rugged up-close view of the Pacific Ocean that was a combination of fog and ocean mist when I visited it. I found as cozy of a spot as there is there wedged between some boulders and listened to, looked at, and felt the incoming swells roll on shore.

Sanderlings on Asilomar Beach in Pacific Grove Wildlife Photography

Sanderlings on Asilomar Beach in Pacific Grove Wildlife Photography

Sanderlings a fast running shore bird that fascinate me

I have always been very curious about these funny little birds running along the shore at Asilomar Beach in Pacific Grove, California. They search along the water’s edge for food, but seem quite adverse to the water washing over their feet, so they run at an incredible fast pace, their little legs moving like a blur, to avoid getting wet! I finally learned their name, sanderlings, and had a chance to photograph them at their eye level thanks to an unusually high sand dune.
