Carolynn was visiting Albuquerque from the midwest taking acting lessons here. She contacted me about making actor headshots for her during her visit and I am very glad that the timing worked out because I am thrilled with the results we were able to make in just a one hour headshot session. Shooting tethered allowed us to get the exact look in real time that Carolynn wanted for each wardrobe change. We also dialed in her own custom color background that make her headshots unique. It was great working in partnership with Carolynn on crafting these headshots getting every detail just right. KOB 4 local news here in Albuquerque is actually the station I watch so when someone named Ivan Cabrera texted me about headshots, I had to ask, are you the meteorologist? He was indeed! If you can believe it, Ivan was not the first local news meteorologist I photographed in downtown Albuquerque, that was Conner Lewis of KRQE back in 2020. Even though I was shooting in a similar place, Ivan’s headshots are totally unique. Using an intersection as the out of focus background, and even the Albuquerque Convention Center itself, I was able to create a variety of different headshots for Ivan all within about a 20 square foot area! Creative variety in model portfolio photography in Albuquerque
One of my goals as a commercial photographer is to offer clients who visit the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico, great variety in the photos we make during the shoot, even in just a one hour shoot. Such was the case when Jolie visited for a model portfolio shoot, including some headshots too. She had a number of outfit changes ready, and with shooting head to toe, three-quarter, and the aforementioned headshots, I was able to make for her in just one hour 25 photos she chose from her proofing gallery! I was really pleased with the creativity and variety in photos I was able to make for Jolie and very glad she chose 25 of them to add to her modeling portfolio. More and more lawyers and attorneys in Albuquerque are choosing Jason Collin Photography for headshots because I welcome creative input from the clients, and create headshots that match their vision, and when needed or wanted, I offer my own creative ideas to help make high impact headshots. Such was the case with lawyer Blake Dugger who visited the JCP Home Studio wanting a black background and lighting that was dramatic. So in addition to my usual beauty dish style lighting, I also used butterfly lighting and for the last shot, a single light to have more shadow in the headshot for maximum dramatic visual appeal.
