Personal Branding Photos for Lawyers build strong connections to clients

More and more lawyers in Albuquerque are choosing to have personal branding photo sessions to go beyond the stern headshots you see on billboards to better connect with clients. Such was the case with meeting B.W. in the now The Clyde Hotel (formerly the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque) in downtown Albuquerque for an extended series of personal branding photos. Using different lobbies, hallways, and seating areas, I was able to make B.W. a wide variety of shots in just about a one hour shoot, not taking up too much of his valuable time as a lawyer. Great job in front of the camera B.W. and thank you for choosing me as your personal branding photographer!

As part of the Founders Series of personal branding photo shoots I did last year for CNM, I met Adam of Adwallet at Tincan Alley per his request to shoot there. I was a familiar with this location and its upstairs open air semi-covered space. Since his company is about making money from watching ads, he brought a cash prop for one of the photos. Creative personal branding photos for marketing CEO in ABQ

Back out on assignment for an out of state trade magazine to make more commercial portraits and personal branding photos for an upcoming article they are writing about Del Esparza. I met Del at his downtown ABQ office which had this great brick wall, conference room, and open space to make enough photos right there. However, we finished the shoot with some high impact street portraits, one of my favorite kinds of photos to make. For all these photos I used my Sony 50mm f/1.2 GM lens that excels in both small spaces still creating shallow depth of field shots, and out in open space for more landscape portrait type shots with some out of focus background. Shooting on location like this allows me to create unique backgrounds for clients. Great job in front of the camera Del!

Downtown ABQ as a unique personal branding photo shoot location

I met T.J. outside his office building in downtown Albuquerque for a thank you personal branding photo shoot for choosing me as the photographer for a big multi-week long project photographing business founders. Downtown ABQ is one of my favorite places to shoot on location in the city, especially standing out in the middle of the street and letting the bokeh take care of the background. This type of photo makes for a unique background that I could never replicate for anyone else, as the light, shadows, and even street lights are always changing. Thank you to T.J. and Jen for choosing me for such an interesting and creative photo project!

Creative Personal Branding Photography in ABQ

Continuing the CNM Founders photo series (see this, and this, and this) I went to Electric Playhouse in Albuquerque, New Mexico to photograph the owner, Brandon, right in the settings customers can see when they visit! Talk about getting unique backgrounds for personal branding photos! Brandon cycled through various light projections. We settled on one that is actually straight fire and another Van Gogh-esque surreal blue swirl. If only I had these projectors in my own photo studio! Thank you to Brandon for the opportunity to shoot in Electric Playhouse itself.

Golden light in Altura Park for commercial portraits in Albuquerque

Continuing the ongoing photography project I have with CNM to photograph founders of various local businesses (see first shoot), I met Trish of Teeniors at Altura Park. I have known Trish already for a couple of years through various business community and networking events. Even knowing someone just a little makes a big difference in the photo shoot I have found in my 13 years of doing this. Thus, the commercial portraits I were able to make of Trish, also benefiting from the late afternoon light in the park, resulted in some of the best photos I have made this year. Of course, Trish was a natural in front of the camera which always makes things much easier too! Thank you to Jen for organizing and to Trish for our planned, but still impromptu photo shoot!

Headshots for an Albuquerque meteorologist

KOB 4 local news here in Albuquerque is actually the station I watch so when someone named Ivan Cabrera texted me about headshots, I had to ask, are you the meteorologist? He was indeed! If you can believe it, Ivan was not the first local news meteorologist I photographed in downtown Albuquerque, that was Conner Lewis of KRQE back in 2020. Even though I was shooting in a similar place, Ivan’s headshots are totally unique. Using an intersection as the out of focus background, and even the Albuquerque Convention Center itself, I was able to create a variety of different headshots for Ivan all within about a 20 square foot area!
