Commercial Photography for restaurant branding and marketing in ABQ
County Line Restaurant in Albuquerque, New Mexico basically sits atop the city nestled right up against the foothills of the Sandia Mountains. It made for a great setting as I visited the restaurant a different times over two days to make interior and exterior photos as well as a 4K drone video showing the restaurant in its stunning setting. I used a variety of shooting techniques to get the interior shots, likewise for the exterior shots. As a professional commercial photographer, I am not set on one particular style of shooting, but rather choose the best for the shooting environment that will get the best results for the client. So for the interiors, sometimes I used off camera lighting, sometimes HDR shots, and sometimes a single exposure worked best. It was great working with the team at County Line Restaurant to make this wide ranging series of dynamic visual content for their branding, marketing, and social media.
Speech all about water and drought by U.S. Congresswoman Stansbury
I had the opportunity to photograph a speech and press conference by U.S. Representative Melanie Stansbury right on the Bosque itself in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Drought has been a big topic for many parts of the country, and it is certainly an issue in New Mexico as well. Water was the topic of the morning by all those that spoke. I definitely think about every drop of water I use in my daily life here in New Mexico.
Both actor and model portfolio shots in one shoot in Albuquerque
Actors and models looking for modern, creative headshots are choosing Jason Collin Photography more and more because of the wide variety of photos made in a relatively short shoot. Such was the case when Tatiana visited the JCP Home Studio and in just about a 30 minute photo shoot, I was able to make numerous actor headshots and head-to-toe model portfolio photos for her. Since I offer tethered shooting for in studio, being able to see her photos live on a big screen helped us get the exact right expressions and looks she wanted without the need for an inconvenient proofing gallery. I like to offer everything live to clients, so they can see the results instantly as we are shooting. Great job in front of the camera Tatiana and thank you for choosing me as both your actor headshot photographer and model portfolio shoot photographer!
High impact personal branding photography for a yoga instructor in ABQ
Ashlyn of Inner Woven Wellness met me at The Remedy Day Spa (another recent client) for a personal branding photography session that ranged from in the yoga studio to in the spa itself producing some of the best photos I have ever made for any client. It was a true team effort with Ashlyn certainly holding some yoga poses a bit longer than she would normally so I could get the lighting and composition of the personal branding photos just right. I think the results speak for themselves! Ashlyn was a star in front of the camera, and spa was an excellent background. Thank you to Ashlyn for choosing me as your personal branding photographer and to Mandy for letting us use The Remedy Day Spa!
Book Cover Photo Shoot in Albuquerque with an author friend
When local Albuquerque author and friend Sonja Dewing contacted me last week about needing some book cover photos for her, to be written the upcoming weekend, memoir, I was glad I had a last minute spot left in my schedule for the week. There were two concepts for the book cover, one using just some of her items from her time in service (like dog tags, etc) and then one with her holding some of these items. We made the lay flat image first using one of my new Duo Boards with a faux (but hyperrealistic) wood background. Then we made the photo with Sonja on a white seamless background with some of those items in her hand and on her person in various ways (check out the BTS shot below). Over the weekend she chose to go with the items on the wood background for the actual book cover photo. I think the final result turned out great!
While at Hotel Albuquerque photographing an event taking place in its courtyard, in the moments finding different points from which to photograph the event itself, which was just a reception and not very fast paced, I had the chance to take a few photos of the features inside the courtyard like the large water fountain, the flora, and the event tent itself in place no doubt in case of any unscheduled rain. All these photos were taking with the amazing Sony 50mm f/1.2 GM lens. Every time I use it, I find myself re-remembering this lens not only has magical properties, but it can be used for a much wider variety of photo than one may think. For a 50mm lens, it is nearly ten times what I paid for my very first 50mm lens (Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D) back in 2008, but it just might be ten times the lens!
Accurate color with no glare for product photography in Albuquerque
The variety of products I have photographed this year at the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico continues to grow with the addition of these religious icons made at a nearby monastery in the east mountains. Father Seraphim along with the actual artist from the monastery who painted the icons, assisted in the shoot (see the BTS below). I was shooting tethered so they could see the photos live as they took them to make sure there was no glare and that the colors were being represented accurately. Other than needing a bit of contrast adjustment, the results made right in camera were very accurate to the icons themselves. As usual, it was a great team effort on this product photography photo shoot and once we got things dialed in, in less than an hour I photographed more than 18 icons. Thank you Father Seraphim for choosing me as your photographer!
