Right on time to the weather forecast, snow began falling at 5pm on a Friday. By midnight it was a frozen landscape like I have never seen in Albuquerque, New Mexico before. There was not just snow cover, it was as if the trees and ground themselves had become snow leaving only dark ponds to contrast with all that white. I went out with my tripod to make these long exposure (5, 15, 30 second exposures) in black & white around my own apartment complex grounds.
Over the course of seven days staying in the Ocean Beach community in San Diego, California I went to visit the Ocean Beach Pier several times. It looked and felt different each time. I was there for a brilliant sunset. I was there as a storm approached. I was there when the pier was nearly completely empty, and when it was filled with people. I met a pelican. I walked it, and I rode a Bird (electric scooter) down it. I listened to the stories the ocean whispered as it passed under and around the pier.
Going from the west side to the east side of the Sandia Mountains brings a dramatic change in scenery, and lifestyle. Which would you prefer? The city sprawl of the westside or the wide open forests of the east side? Albuquerque is on the west side, and numerous small villages are on the east side. A rural land real estatedrone video assignment took me to the east side recently and I could not help but think just how much of a divide the mountains are. Living on 22 acres of forested land would be very peaceful. Driving over 30 minutes to go see a movie, not so convenient. I guess the ideal is to have both!

Large Commercial Properties Perfect for Drone Photography
Four months ago I got contacted by an out of state client about making self storage drone photos here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I am happy to say that they liked my work so much, that when they had another property in ABQ come up that needed drone and still photos, I was sent out to make more sky and ground images for them!
Just outside of Silver City, New Mexico sits this expansive rural land real estate property that I was sent to make a 4K drone video of, as well as aerial and still photos for Hemingway Land. This was one of the easiest rural land properties to access by vehicle, but one of the hardest to traverse by foot due to abundance of tall grass and the rolling topography of the property. I did so much up and down walking that it closed the exercise ring on my Apple Watch! This drone video ends with one of my favorite sunset shots of its kind. The light was soft and I slowly flew to the right just letting the setting sun linger in the frame.
