Adding Lifestyle to Ceramics

This month makes one year I have been photographing the ceramic art of Noah Starer, a Santa Fe based artist. Typically I photograph his ceramic artwork on a paper background giving the illusion of a gray gradient, for example in these photo galleries. This time he asked me to come up with some lifestyle photos featuring his ceramics in them. The shot above represents that effort. The plate and vase holding the flower are his work. The Apple Watch, UE Megaboom bluetooth speaker, and post card are mine. The coffee cup is borrowed from Jessica and the table is thanks to her uncle who moved from Santa Fe recently and let me have it!

Sante Fe New Mexico Food Photography at the Sage Inn

A Social Restaurant in Santa Fe

Santa Fe Sage Inn contacted me about coming up to make some food photographs of new menu items for the grand opening of their social themed restaurant. It was a diverse shoot ranging from close up dessert shots, to from above “hero shots” of multiple food dishes, to stylized backlit drink shots. It was a fun challenge changing gears between the different setups required for each of those types of photographs. You can see that diversity in the gallery below. Thank you to Sonya for all your assistance during this shoot and when you are next in Santa Fe be sure and check out their social themed restaurant!

Tech Nuts Rio Rancho Staff Headshots

Tech Nuts Rio Rancho Staff Headshots

Tech Nuts need headshots too!

If you are a long time reader of the JCP blog, then you may recognize the person in the upper left from another headshot shoot in February 2018. That’s Arkulas Beyer of Tech Nuts in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. He hired a few new staff members and wanted headshots of them to feature on an updated Tech Nuts website. I got to visit Arkulas on his home turf right in the Tech Nuts computer shop. Thus, I got to see more of his personality as he interacted with his staff, which includes his dad (upper right)! You can notice the difference in his photo too with more of a smile than his previous one.

Real Estate Agent Headshots with Ben in Albuquerque New Mexico

Real Estate Agents need modern headshots!

Real estate agent headshots are, along with personal injury lawyers, perhaps the most seen headshots out in public. That’s why having a modern, creative, and professional headshot for a real estate agent in Albuquerque, New Mexico is particularly important. It’s the first impression you make on potential buyers and sellers, and if your headshot does not look professional, and modern, what kind of impression do you think that is going to make? Ben will be impressing clients all over ABQ with his new headshot and head to toe headshot as well! He visited the JCP Home Studio and it was nearly a record for fewest shots to get results we both liked! Thanks for being so awesome in front of the lens Ben!

Creative Headshots in Albuquerque New Mexico with Jackie

Headshots for a Writer

I met Jackie a good while back at a marketing presentation. As I do with everyone I meet at presentations and networking events I checked out her website and follow up with suggestions of how my photography may help their business. Jackie was in the process of doing an entire website redesign and needed a headshot to go on it, my specialty! She visited the JCP Home Studio and we went through a variety of poses, background colors and even wardrobe changes to find a creative headshot style that worked for her new site. She chose the headshot above to use on her ABOUT THE WRITER page on her new website! Thank you Jackie!

Rio Rancho Neighborhood Residential Real Estate Photography

Coralee is a real estate agent that really cares!

I had the pleasure of working with a new real estate agent, Coralee Quintana, photographing a residential real estate listing for her in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. We met at an Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce ambassador meeting. At the listing she was very helpful getting last minute things in order for me to photograph the exteriors first, and then the interiors. She went above and beyond to insure the best results and really helped out the home owner as well. I did my part looking for creative, as well as the traditional, interior photography angles and composition. Check out the photo below using the bed in the foreground, not the typical bedroom real estate photo!

Albuquerque Headshots with Suzie Fun and Creative

Suzie visits the JCP Home Studio for Headshots!

It was a long time coming, but Suzie was finally able to visit the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a headshot session! We had first talked several months ago, so I was glad when Suzie texted and said do you have any time available this morning?? Luckily I did and got the studio lights setup in a hurry! Like many clients, Suzie was not exactly thrilled at the prospect of having her photo taken, but had to. We tried a couple different lighting setups and backgrounds, before ending up with this seated position on a black background. It is my job to find the right style and look to make my headshot clients feel comfortable during the photo session and be thrilled with the results! This is what a professional headshot photographer is able to do! Thank you Suzie for visiting and being patient until we got just the right headshot for you!
