Even for someone who has been to hundreds of rural land real estate properties in more than half the counties in New Mexico, there are still some areas I have not yet been. Such was the case when I visited Quemado, New Mexico for Hemingway Land recently. In the far west-central part of New Mexico, near no major highway, nor any city, Quemado is one would expect a quiet place with echos of when it was a more bustling town. If you are looking for a quiet place to have a weekend getaway, nearby Quemado Lake makes a visit to Quemado a hidden gem exploring opportunity. I recommend staying at Casa Azul, everything you want in a B&B experience with a very friendly owner who is a great cook as well!
Sunrise drone flight for amazing results for the client
Here at Jason Collin Photography, I find in photography and drone video, getting up for the sunrise is never a bad thing and often produces amazing results. Such was the case at this luxury rural real estate property in Arizona that I just happened to be staying at in the guest cabin allowing me an easy walk to the large pond right on the property to catch this stunning sunrise with both the drone and my mirrorless camera. This was a specific request by the client to capture sunrise content, and I included it in the overall property drone video I delivered to the client. I liked the sunrise drone video clips so much, I wanted to feature them, even though they are brief, in their own drone video.
Any chance I get to go up to Taos, however brief, is welcome. One a recent afternoon, a client wanted me to make drone video and a 360 panorama aerial drone photo of his luxury home he was planning to sell, even before he had hired a real estate agent! He knew himself the value of drone video in selling a property like his, as he was hoping to attract an out of state and even out of country buyer. The drone video shows the whole property in context with the Taous mountains providing the background. Likewise, the 360 panorama drone aerial photo lets the viewer look around the property as they wish from the drone’s view. Thank you Gary for choosing me as your drone pilot and I hope your property sells quickly!
I had been wanting to try out the hyperlapse recording mode on my Mavic 2 Pro drone again for a while, so after seeing interesting skies, I got the drone up in the air to record my second hyperlapse. It had been too long since I made the first one because I totally forgot, again, that at default settings for hyperlapse, even though the drone makes 125 photos over 4 minutes to make the hyperlapse video, it turns out to be just 4 seconds of moving video! I also made a few still aerial drone photos of the stunning clouds catching the last of the light of dusk at twilight.
In the past three years, I have photographed hundreds of rural land real estate properties in New Mexico, and now I have photographed my first in Colorado. This property was a great introduction to Las Animas County and its mountain views and sweeping green pines. This piece of land in particular had a high point hill on it allowing me to get some exceptional views. If you would like to own these views, check out Hemingway Land.
In my car photography career, I have had the opportunity to photograph a lot of expensive cars, including a Rolls-Royce Wraith over $350k (and even drive it too!). However, the Duesenberg Model X photographed in Albuquerque, New Mexico is above and beyond any other car in terms of both value and rarity. This Duesenberg model is just one of five still in existence in the world! Who owns one of those other examples? No less than Jay Leno! The owner of this Model X is selling to to replace it with a Duesenberg Model J. He hired me to make photographs to help sell it for the highest price possible, as well as make drone video of the car in motion on Tramway Blvd.
Drone photography delivers the Albuquerque image wow factor
Needing a signature look of Albuquerque for their client, WSI Web Enhancers asked me what I think that would be. They sent me a few samples from other cities, and most of those included water. Well, the only water around Albuquerque is the Rio Grande River, so I knew I needed to incorporate that in the 360 panorama drone photo I was to make for them. That same evening there was a spectacular sunset in the making, so I took my drone to an area near the river and put it into position to capture the Rio and the Albuquerque city skyline plus the Sandia Mountains as the background. You can see the results for yourself above. Both WSI and their client were very, very happy with the final 360 drone product!
