Ribbon Cutting Event for senior dog rescue benefit shop in Pacific Grove
Peace of Mind Dog Rescue is an organization I noticed right away after moving to Pacific Grove, California. I have since donated many things to them. In addition to their animal rescue for senior dogs, they opened up a benefit shop recently in downtown. I was happy to see the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce was holding a ribbon cutting event for their shop, that was a fun event for human and canine alike!
The ribbon cutting events that the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce puts on feature all kinds of different businesses in town. This one I had walked by quite a bit in the past year, but never went inside until this ribbon cutting event. If you like antiques and nostalgia, then The Grove Emporium is a place to definitely check out.

This was a very high energy ribbon cutting because the owner of I heart You Candles, Sherry, is a very high energy and enthusiastic person! As an ambassador for the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce I regularly attend events like this and of course always bring my camera. This time I was also a customer purchasing a candle to bring home to my girlfriend. Thank you Sherry for your help in picking out the best candle and good luck with your new business here in Pacific Grove!
Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham in candids and speaking
I have lost track of how many times I have had the opportunity to photograph Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, which goes back to when she was a congresswoman in 2018, but every time is always fun as she is a very animated and energetic speaker. This also makes it a challenge to photograph her while speaking becausse many of the photos freeze her in a not so flattering pose. Knowing this, for the event I photographed at the Albuquerque Marriott Pyramid North for the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, I knew I had to take more shots than I usually would of someone speaking and time my shots just right waiting for her to pause after a sentence to have the best chance at getting a good photo. The governor helped me out this time by not standing behind a podium while she was speaking allowing for some head to toe photos as well.
Inside the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting I was able to begin a day of event photography at the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque by photographing Mayor Tim Keller giving a live press conference. I have photographed the mayor perhaps a dozen times in the past, but this was the first time to photograph him at a press conference. It was pretty cool! From there, everyone went in to the ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque for the formal part of the Greater ABQ Chamber’s annual meeting festivities where the mayor then gave a lengthy speech addressing mostly the issue of homelessness in the city. Being a professional event photographer has always taken me inside worlds I would otherwise never be privy to.
This was the second year in a row I had a vendor table at the ABQWest Chamber of Commerce Holiday Celebration and Donation Drive event. My setup was much more professional this year compared to last where I just had my logo printed on an 8x10 piece of paper! This year I had a table runner with my logo and contact information on it, plus two easels with 30”x40” canvas prints on display. This is in addition to a 27” 4K monitor showing 4K drone video highlights from the past year, and Jessica’s MacBook showing a photo highlights slideshow. I also donated a print to the raffle.
The most fun you will have networking in Albuquerque
The Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce did it yet again with another amazingly fun, energetic and informative networking event right here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The first Thursday of every month is the Get Crafty With Your Biz event where three local business owners briefly tell their own personal business story and the conclude with a piece of business advice for the attendees. It is a great format that let's one network and mingle, but also here a real local business success story.
