Willie returns to the JCP Home Studio for a 4th style of headshot
Willie has been one of my best clients in the past year and a half. He has come for now four headshot photo sessions! Three have been here at the JCP Home Studio, and one was out on location in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico. This time Willie wanted a specific gray vertical gradient background. He sent me a sample photo and I was able to match that exactly in the Covid-19 safe studio shoot we had. I really appreciate returning clients. Nothing feels better as a professional photographer than when a client continues to choose you for their photography. Thank you Willie!
I often have opportunities to photograph the Sandia Mountains of New Mexico from unique viewpoints that no one else can get because I am on private property photographing the land for real estate clients. Add to that exclusivity for this series of photos the fact the land was in a more established neighborhood setting with a hilly topography and I was able to make a close-up photo of the mountains with some flora in the foreground. In another photo I got lucky and capture a flock of birds flying by. Then of course hovering right over the mountaintops were some dramatic clouds to add that still little bit extra to make these some of my favorite photos of the Sandias yet.
Road trips are often dotted with stops suggested by the website Atlas Obscura. Such was the case for a recent trip to Tucson, Arizona where in an open air park, one can find a life sized sculpture of The Last Supper. The sculpture is part of the Garden of Gethsemane in Tucson, Arizona which can be reserved for special events. I was wondering what type of event you’d want such a sculpture for the background of? The original painting is of course in color and seems so active. The sculpture in white is much more stark, without that sense of movement so much. Scroll to the map below fro the location of this unusual garden sculpture.
When Ike and his team visited the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a Covid-19 safe headshot shoot, I asked them do you want to remove your jackets? They said no, they are cool with them on. Here at Jason Collin Photography I always make photos exactly how the clients want, so it was for me the first time to make headshots of clients wearing their jackets! I really like the contrasting look of the casual jacket style with the formal gray gradient background. Thank you Ike for choosing me as your team’s headshot photographer!
Rio Rancho Real Estate Photography for Contemporary Luxury Home
Jim contacted me about real estate photography for his contemporary luxury home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Photographing such a beautifully designed and decorated luxury home is a pleasure for me. The open concept living room and kitchen was an area I alone spent over an hour photographing! Photographing a luxury home like this I use the best interior photography technique of flambient when the shot suited it, and other times traditional off camera lighting shots. For the exterior photos I used a realistic HDR technique. Thank you Jim for choosing me as your real estate photographer for this amazing Rio Rancho luxury property!
El Vado Lake a hidden gem in Rio Arriba County New Mexico
Rio Arriba County New Mexico is one of my favorite places to visit for my rural land real estate work in particular because of the spectacular scenery of and around El Vado Lake. This lake is part of a state park (open seasonally). The water level changes radically with the seasons. I have been at the lake and was shocked at just how low it was at that time. In these photos and drone video I would say the lake is pretty high and near its full volume. Another unique thing about this lake, is that if you are coming from the south, one option you have is to take a 16 mile dirt road right to this southern point of the lake. The dirt road is well maintained, so pretty much any vehicle with a little ground clearance could do it in the dry, and is my recommended way of visiting El Vado Lake. If you are looking for a hidden gem of a lake in New Mexico, use the map below to visit El Vado Lake yourself.
Seated and 3/4 headshots styles in Albuquerque New Mexico
Brad visited the JCP Home Studio here in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a Covid-19 safe headshot session. Brad wanted seated and three-quarter view headshots, rather than the traditional tighter from the shoulders up framed headshot. Being seated and standing, along with using white and gray backgrounds, and wardrobe changes, led to making a wide variety of images for Brad to choose from in just about a 30 minute photo session. Check out the BTS shot below to see the studio setup used to make these photos. Thank you Brad for choosing Jason Collin Photography for your Covid-19 safe headshots!
