Back in Torrance County New Mexico on a rural land photography shoot for Hemingway Land Company, at a property much more covered in trees than I typically encounter. The last time I had hardly any open space to make photos with a view from. This time there was a good swatch of open land that allowed me to make landscape and sunset shots to help the client sell this rural land property fast! How fast? Well, read the Google review about how much my photographs and drone video help sell his New Mexico rural land properties.
My brief time at Leo Carrillo State Park in Malibu, California flying my DJI Mavic Pro drone was incredibly fruitful. If I lived in Malibu I could produce nearly infinite drone photos of that stunning stretch of California coastline. Of particular interest to me was that small cove of rocks, which I have remarked before looks like a secret cache of dinosaur eggs!
It was my pleasure to attend a networking event in Albuquerque, New Mexico presented by Dr. Barbra Portzline called Beyond the Elevator Pitch. I left the conference meeting room with a couple pages of notes on how to present what I can provide to potential clients rather than just spouting out information. What I liked most perhaps was that Barbra gave us many specifics on how to do this, complete with handouts!
At the 2018 New Mexico International Auto Show, there really was only one star, and there was not even a close second -- it was the 2017 Ford GT. Placed right inside the main entrance to the entire exhibit space in the Albuquerque Convention Center, there was the Ford GT in a beautiful silver-gray color. I had not seen it in person before of course, as it is a very rare car and the limited run is still being produced. In photos I had not cared for the frog-like appearance of the front fascia on this supercar. It looks much better in person, and the 3/4 view, as pictured above, revealing the extreme aero and duct work make for a truly stunning appearance. If you dare park a Ford GT on the street, it will attract massive amounts of attention!
The Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce has a new networking event called Amigos Breakfast which changes up the usual networking event dynamic. After arriving you pair up with a member you do not know and have 15 minutes of one-on-one time to get to know them and their business. Then, you stand up and give a presentation about them! It is a great way to listen and learn about another chamber member and to practice talking about another business, which is a good networking skill to have so you do not only talk about your own business when at such events. After I presented I made these fun candid photos of everyone else presenting!
In full disclosure this is my Jeep Renegade TrailhawkI just got three weeks ago that is featured in this 4K drone video made in the Rio Rancho, New Mexico area on remote fire roads in the Southern Blvd area. Jessica was in the passenger seat and the pilot for this video, though I used the intelligent flight mode Active Tracking in the DJI Go 4 app, so all she had to do was to make sure the Mavic Pro kept the Jeep in frame. It was a lot of fun being out in the desert having an adventure and being able to make a unique home movie of sorts of this exploring!
Photographing another grand openingribbon cutting event for The Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce at the new Triumph Motorcycle on the west side of Albuquerque made me want to get on a motorcycle and feel that particular sense of Freedom one gets with a vehicle with just one headlight! Photographing ribbon cutting events is one of my favorite things to do in my professional photography work as everyone involved is exciting and I get to meet a new local business.
