While out on a rural land real estate shoot for Hemingway Land, the client wanted me to get some photos of the local color, as he put it. These photos represent that. Even if you live in Albuquerque, you may not have ever been to nearby Moriarty, NM. The town’s nickname is the Crossroads of Opportunity. Many small New Mexico towns have such monikers attached to their welcome signs. I find them interesting. So this small town may not be the first thing you think of when someone says Moriarty. Most likely you think Sherlock Holmes’ nemesis, but now you can bring up knowledge of a second Moriarty in conversation!
Albuquerque is not supposed to be a very snowy city. There are other places in New Mexico that do get their fair bit of snow, which might be surprising for a desert state, but even though ABQ is a mile high city, significant snow is rare, at least in my now going on 4 winters here. So getting over 6 inches of snow while still in October after it was just 81F two days earlier is quite the shock! I sent the drone up to document the snowfall in all forms —> hyperlapse video, 360 aerial panorama, and aerial still photos. Consistent professional headshots for accountants in Albuquerque
The accounting firm of Loftis & Lovato Group first chose me as their headshot photographer for their office here in Albuquerque, New Mexico back in February of this year. Their team keeps growing and I am very thankful they continue to choose me as their headshot photographer. The latest team member, Kelsie, visited the JCP Home Studio to get a headshot that looks just like all the other accountant headshots I made at their office in February. New Mexico is not generally well known as an area of volcanic activity, at least not in this millennium! However, the state’s volcanic past is highly visible in Cibola County where a large swath is covered in lava fields, and in this particular spot I visited recently, Lava Falls. You can drive right up to this area and then explore on foot acres and acres as far as the eye can see of lava in all forms. An alien landscape that you can touch right here in New Mexico! Listening to what my clients want is something I like to think I do very well. So to read Bettina’s review of our headshot shoot was very satisfying to me as she said, “took the time to learn what my vision / goal was.” For her shoot, she wanted black and gray backgrounds, and I made sure that the position of her glasses relevant to the camera lens looked the best (i.e. no artifacting causing doubles nor any glare). Bettina was very good in front of the camera, so we were able to take a few shots, proof them together, then refine things exactly in the second round of headshots. Then to receive such a wonderful review made me happy knowing I was able to deliver great headshots for my client. Thank you again Bettina!
Studio like results for portraits in the park in Albuquerque
In addition to making candid portraits of Indu’s 1 year old son, I also made group portraits of her extended family at Altura Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The sun came out from behind the trees in a few of the shots just right to add an amazing visual element to the portraits. Since I use the same lighting I would in studio out on location, the results are spectacular portraits combining the best elements of outdoor and in studio photography. As a top three rated commercial photographer in Albuquerque, I mostly have business clients. However, I do enjoy having lifestyle photoshoots when people contact me like Indu did to make photos of her son as he turns 1 year old. We met in Altura Park (a location I have been using more and more) to make candid photos of her son. Since a 1 year old does not really ever sit still, it is my photography philosophy that it is best to just let the baby do what he/she wants and let me make candids that capture the baby’s personality. Maybe the smile will not be perfect, maybe the baby will almost never once even look directly into the camera, but the photos 20 years from now I really believe will make the parents smile more than a posed photo attempting perfection.
