The monthly Biz Gratis networking events hosted by the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce at a different location each time have become my favorite networking events to attend. MCed by Luis Hernandez they are always full of energy and feature creative locations, like last night at Isleta Amphitheater.
Read MoreIt is not everyday that one gets hired to photograph an event in Albuquerque New Mexico that is attended by the mayor, a Senator and a Congresswoman, but that is what I go to do as the photographer for the grand opening of General Atomics! That is of course Mayor Keller in the above photo who I will have another chance to photograph soon for a Gladiators arena football team promotion.
Read MoreSaturday evening was the annual Twinkle Light Parade in the Nob Hill area of Albuquerque. Since this is still my first year in ABQ, it was therefore my first time to check out the parade. It provided lot of great photography opportunities, while being a challenging low light shooting situation.
Read MoreOne of my favorite things about being a professional photographer is getting to learn about things I never would otherwise. One of the ways I experience this is from photographing international conferences like the American Art Therapy Association 48th Annual Conference. Just a month earlier I got to spend four days shooting the ABSA Conference, and for AATA 2017 three more days at the Albuquerque Convention Center learning about the important work art therapists do with their patients, and especially veterans.

You have probably never heard of them unless you are in the biology field, but after four days photographing their 60th Annual Biological Safety Conference, I learned just how important the work they do is! I think I also finally figured out how to get around the maze that is the Albuquerque Convention Center!
Read MoreBeing a member of the ABQWest Chamber of Commerce has a lot of perks, one of which is getting invited to VIP sneak preview opening of events like the New Mexico Chinese Lantern Festival. This allowed Jessica and I to see the lanterns with a far smaller crowd around them than would be possible at a public night.
Read MoreEver since I moved to New Mexico in February of this year, I had been hearing about the Balloon Fiesta, seeing signs about it, seeing images from it. It is the biggest event of the year for Albuquerque and for once I was very excited to wake up at 3:45am to make it to Balloon Fiesta Park in time to beat the traffic (mostly) and see the Dawn Patrol take off.
