On a very windy Friday evening I met three dentists in the desert at the foothills of the Sandia Mountains for a commercial portrait and headshot photoshoot. When I say windy, I mean windy! It was a real team effort with Jessica assisting on purpose, and my contact person, Annamarie, helping out to in order to get the best possible on location headshots possible, and a group shot of all three dentists to culminate a blustery shoot. Longtime networking friend Paul of EquiSeq visited the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico recently for a Covid-19 safeheadshot session. It is always the highest compliment when a friend chooses me as their photographer also. Besides being the Chief Scientific Officer for EquiSeq, Paul is also an organizer for our local 1 Million Cups, and is part of Indivisible Nob Hill. He is a very busy person no doubt! Consistent Professional Product Photography in Albuquerque
Even though Tavis of Morrison Outdoors has moved from New Mexico to Washington, I am very flattered he continues to choose me as his product photographer for his innovative kids sleeping bags. He shipped the latest sleeping bag to me and I made the same series of photos of the product like I had done for him in three past shoots. Providing consistent results over several years is something I am proud to offer clients here at Jason Collin Photography. This time Tavis wanted a few extra shots of the sleeping bag “dancing” that he could use for a fun gif. Commercial Portraits in a beautiful downtown Albuquerque building
The interior of a beautiful building in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico made for a fantastic setting for a commercial portrait shoot with Maria. She is going to be featured in an industry magazine article so I visited her one morning to make the photos for that piece. Many of the times I shoot on location, I do not know what to expect for a shooting environment, and such was the case this time. Fortunately, the open office space of what used to be the lobby of this building had several different background options. Maria had a good sense of the space also and helped with choosing the right chair for the cover photo you see above. The challenge of shooting on location, usually unknown location, is one I actually enjoy a lot as it usually results in even more creative shots. Jacquelyn, the founder and operator of Skinnovate in Albuquerque, New Mexico, knows how important it is to show clients that visit her website her actual team, and not fill it up with generic stock images. I visited Skinnovate for a commercial portraits and team in action photo shoot that was a ton of fun! Plus, her clinic space had some of the best light for fluorescent overhead lighting I had ever seen due probably to the huge windows along the exterior wall letting in a ton of natural light to overpower what is usually brutal fluorescent. This is one of my favorite kind of photo shoots because it involves a lot of creative challenge working in (small) spaces I of course had never been in before, making photos of actual professionals doing their jobs, and basically getting to create on the fly.
