Sample wallet-sized card for photography clients

sample of a wallet-sized photo cardSelected Jason Collin Photography candid photography packages include a set of wallet-sized photo cards.  The above is a sample of these cards.  They are the same size as a standard business card printed on very high quality card paper.  They fit into the credit card holder portion of a wallet easily.

These wallet-sized cards are meant to keep alive the old custom of carrying around photos of your children in your wallet.  They are also an easy way to mail a photograph to a friend or distant family member.  These wallet-sized cards also look great on your refrigerator!  Lastly, if you a high school senior, you can use the wallet-sized cards as a kind of trading card with your friends.

Candid photography packages that come with wallet-sized cards standard include one card for each professionally edited image.  Duplicate wallet-sized cards may be ordered as an option.  Likewise, the option exists to add a set of wallet-sized cards to any candid photography package that does not include wallet-sized cards standard.

Haikyo exhibition photographs printing out!

Some of the 61 images printing out for my haikyo photography exhibition on Friday November 13, 2009 - taken with my iPhone

Things are starting to come together for my big haikyo exhibition this Friday, the 13th of November!  The photo above shows the huge printer being used by the great staff at NGI Printing to print out my 61 haikyo photographs on a huge sheet.

A sheet of 8x10 images are coming out of the printer in the photo.  They will later be cut from the sheet, then mounted on black gatorboard, before the final step of applying a laminate cover.  I was really pleased with the print quality.  I can't wait to see the 24x36 images!

I hope you come out and attend the opening night of my exhibition:

Starting the week of with a headshot

On location ( Saint Petersburg) headshot challenging the rules of backlighting with only a SB-600!

I started off my week by making the very short drive to downtown St. Petersburg for a headshot with Pam.  I met her last week at the new member orientation for the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce.  Networking pays off!  She also invited me to an exclusive meeting for select businesses in the area, with the one catch that it's at 7:15am!

Pam was a great headshot client.  She knew how to pose without any coaching from me practically.  I just tried to find good backgrounds within her office and also out in the building's elevated walkways.  For the above shot, I thought I'd try to shoot the opposite way one would normally.  Instead of having the subject face the natural sunlight, I chose to use that light as the background.

For the shot below, there was this very cool orange wall in Pam's office.  Even though she has red hair, I thought I would again go against the rules and use it as a backdrop for a fun headshot.

A funky orange wall made for a very season autumn background.

Photo published in an AEON ESL textbook

A while back, a long while back, a representative from AEON sent me e-mail asking to use one of my photos in a yet to be published ESL textbook.  They had discovered my photo on flickr.  Of course no financial compensation for using the photo, but they did say I would get full credit.  So I said ok, go ahead and use it.  I requested a copy of the textbook once it was printed.  They said sure.

Well, since that time I had moved from Tokyo to Florida.  And in Florida I moved to a different address than I had originally given them.  In light of all that I was pleased to surprisingly received the finished ESL textbook in the mail!  My photo did not exactly get a full page spread, but it is one of only like five photos in the entire textbook and they gave not just a name credit, but my entire photography website URL (on the book's back page).  This is my second photograph to have published in print.

This is the original photograph.
