A Windy Monterey Peninsula Golf Round with Friends Visiting from Georgia
When Lindsey first contacted me about Monterey peninsula golf photography for her husband Travis, and his friend JT, no one would have been able to guess the unbelievable weather that day! I was worried about rain in the days leading up to it, so never thought to check the wind. Only a few rain drops on the 18th hole, thankfully, but the wind! It was hard to walk against it when it gusted, and was at 30mph+ sustained nearly every hole. Despite this challenge, Travis and JT still played well and I was able to make the same range and quality of golf photography shot I was able to just one day earlier when I was also on the course with another client and the weather was absolutely perfect! So you'd never know from looking at the photos they were playing in essentially tropical storm level winds. As you can see in the one photo gallery below, their spirits remained up and it was still ultimately a great round out on this special golf course. And if they ended up in sand traps a few more times than they would have, that just made for more dramatic photos like the one above! Thank you to Lindsey for finding and choosing me as the golf photographer for Travis and JT, all of them visiting from Georgia!
A Round of Golf, Family Along for the Walk, and Plenty of Good Moments to Catch
Mike contacted me some time ago about golf photography for playing a full 18 hole round with his dad at the most famous golf course on the Monterey Peninsula. The weather forecast was not looking great only a few days out, but rapidly improved to a near ideal day out on the course! Mike’s dad is also named Mike! It was not only fun to capture their golf action shots, but also the interaction between them as father and son. Additionally, following in a cart watching their round was Mike’s mom and sister. It was great to be a part of this family golfing experience on such a beautiful day out on the course. Thank you Mike for choosing me as your golf photographer!
200+ Photos of runners from the 2025 Monterey Bay Half Marathon available to download for free!
I knew about half a dozen people running in the 2025 Monterey Bay Half Marathon and remarkably was able to see and photograph two of them despite shooting from only two locations for about 90 minutes! I was on Lighthouse Ave in the middle of downtown Pacific Grove starting at about 9am on Sunday, and then went to a spot just past Lover’s Point Park on Ocean View Blvd sitting on a curb by the water. See my photo below to help you remember if you saw me, and especially if you waved or smiled to the camera, maybe I got your photo. The galleries below are just a simple. Please click any of the buttons below to go to the FULL galleries. I separated the photos into two galleries, one for smilers and one for people just running by. Please note if you did smile or wave, I might have missed the initial wave / smile so you might be in the non-smiling gallery. In the SmugMug galleries you can download your photo for free!
