Monterey Peninsula Golf Photography with Mike and Mike

Monterey Peninsula Golf Photography During a Father-Son Round

Professional golf photography in the Monterey area can capture much more than the swing itself, from action and course scenery to candid moments shared during a memorable round

A Round of Golf, Family Along for the Walk, and Plenty of Good Moments to Catch

Mike contacted me some time ago about golf photography for playing a full 18 hole round with his dad at the most famous golf course on the Monterey Peninsula. The weather forecast was not looking great only a few days out, but rapidly improved to a near ideal day out on the course! Mike’s dad is also named Mike! It was not only fun to capture their golf action shots, but also the interaction between them as father and son. Additionally, following in a cart watching their round was Mike’s mom and sister. It was great to be a part of this family golfing experience on such a beautiful day out on the course. Thank you Mike for choosing me as your golf photographer!

That is the kind of golf photography I enjoy making in the Monterey Peninsula area. A great round is not only about mechanics. It is also about atmosphere, relationships, and all the photos that tell the story of the day.

Looking for Professional Golf Photography in the Monterey Area?

If you want golf photos that go beyond a few quick snapshots and actually capture the feel of the course, the people, and the experience of the round, professional golf photography can make a big difference. This can be for personal keepsakes, social media, golf-related branding, or simply documenting a special day on a beautiful Monterey Peninsula course.

Why hire a professional photographer for a round of golf?

Before you scroll through the gallery, you can also read my post about 5 reasons you need a professional photographer for your round of golf.

Action Around the Green

Chipping, getting out of the rough, and those split-second golf moments

This is where golf photography gets especially fun. The ball in the air, the turf kicking up, and the body position through impact all happen so quickly that they are easy to miss in real time. Strong action photographs let you go back and actually see those details, while also preserving the energy of the round.

Putting Moments on the Green

Quiet concentration while reading the lines

Putting photographs have a different kind of tension. Everything slows down, the body language gets more precise, and even a short putt can make for a strong image. I like including this part of the round because it shows another side of the game beyond the bigger swing moments.

Tee Shots with Room to Swing

Opening up the frame to show the golfer and the course

Tee shot photographs are some of the best places to combine the player with the setting. A good tee image can show form, motion, and the broader landscape all at once, which is a big part of what makes Monterey Peninsula golf photography so visually rewarding.

Sand Trap Shots That Look Dynamic

A little chaos is good for the camera sometimes

Bunker shots are messy in the best possible way. The sand flying, the body turning through the shot, and the contrast between the player and the bright bunker all make for dramatic golf images. These are some of my favorite moments to photograph because they usually feel the most alive.

The Reactions, Hugs, and In-Between Moments

Candid photos are the memories between swings of the club

Some of the most meaningful photographs from a golf round are not swings at all. They are the smiles, reactions, quick conversations, and little moments between shots. Since Mike was playing with his dad while his mom and sister followed along, there was a real family dynamic throughout the day that gave the gallery much more personality.

Simple Player Portraits Against the Sky

A dramatic framing of the golfer isolated after the swing

These more isolated golf images strip the scene down and let the golfer stand on their own. Shooting low with the sky behind the player creates a cleaner and more graphic look, which mixes nicely with the wider scenic images from the rest of the round.

Professional Golf Photography in the Monterey Peninsula for Memorable Rounds, Family Outings, and Golf Branding

A professionally photographed round of golf can preserve more than just a few swings. It can tell the story of the day, show the beauty of the course, and capture the people you shared it with. Whether you want photographs for personal memories, family golf outings, social content, or golf-related branding in the Monterey area, I would be glad to help create images that feel dynamic, natural, and tell the story of your golf experience.

Golf photography in the Monterey Peninsula is at its best when it captures both the game itself and the people who made the round worth remembering.
