Monterey Peninsula Golf Photography with Travis and JT
Golf photography during a windy round for friends visiting from Georgia
Professional golf photography in the Monterey Peninsula area can capture more than the swing itself, from action and course scenery to candid moments shared during a memorable round with friends.
A Windy Monterey Peninsula Golf Round with Friends Visiting from Georgia
When Lindsey first contacted me about Monterey peninsula golf photography for her husband Travis, and his friend JT, no one would have been able to guess the unbelievable weather that day! I was worried about rain in the days leading up to it, so never thought to check the wind. Only a few rain drops on the 18th hole, thankfully, but the wind! It was hard to walk against it when it gusted, and was at 30mph+ sustained nearly every hole. Despite this challenge, Travis and JT still played well and I was able to make the same range and quality of golf photography shot I was able to just one day earlier when I was also on the course with another client and the weather was absolutely perfect! So you'd never know from looking at the photos they were playing in essentially tropical storm level winds. As you can see in the one photo gallery below, their spirits remained up and it was still ultimately a great round out on this special golf course. And if they ended up in sand traps a few more times than they would have, that just made for more dramatic photos like the one above! Thank you to Lindsey for finding and choosing me as the golf photographer for Travis and JT, all of them visiting from Georgia!
Looking for Professional Golf Photography in the Monterey Area?
If you want golf photos that go beyond a few quick snapshots and actually capture the feel of the course, the people, and the experience of the round, professional golf photography can make a big difference. This can be for personal keepsakes, social media, golf-related branding, or simply documenting a special day on a beautiful Monterey Peninsula course.
Why hire a professional photographer for a round of golf?
Before you scroll through the gallery, you can also read my post about 5 reasons you need a professional photographer for your round of golf.
Around the Course on the Monterey Peninsula
Scenic golf photography with fairways, skies, ocean air, and a full sense of place
The “around the course” photos help show more than the players alone. They show the setting, weather, movement, and atmosphere of the round. For Travis and JT, the combination of dramatic skies, coastal views, rolling fairways, and constant wind made the day feel unmistakably like a Monterey Peninsula golf experience.
Sand Trap Golf Photography
Bunker shots, flying sand, and the challenge of coastal golf conditions
Sand trap photos can bring a lot of energy to a golf gallery because they show both technique and difficulty. With strong wind throughout the round, these moments had even more movement, from the sand in the air to the concentration required to play the shot well.
On the Green During the Round
Putting, reading the line, and the quieter moments between big shots
Not every golf photo needs to be about a full swing. Some of the best storytelling happens on the green, where the pace slows down and the focus becomes more personal. These putting photos help round out the gallery by showing the strategy, patience, and small moments that are part of every memorable round.
Chipping and Short Game Golf Photography
Close-range golf action with timing, touch, and course scenery
Short game photos are great for showing detail and timing. Chipping, pitch shots, and approach shots around the green often create strong action images, especially when the ball, club, and landscape all come together in the frame. These moments added variety to Travis and JT’s gallery while keeping the focus on the actual flow of their round.
Golf Trip Photos with Friends
Candid portraits and shared moments from a round with Travis and JT
Travis and JT’s round was not only about golf. It was also about two friends traveling from Georgia and sharing a special day on the Monterey Peninsula. These photos of them together help tell that part of the story, giving the final gallery images that feel personal, natural, and connected to the experience beyond the scorecard.
