A Second Visit to a Pebble Beach Build in Progress
I returned to this stunning in progress Pebble Beach estate 6 months after my first visit to make updated drone video and aerial photos and to also get still photos of the special materials being used to define the interior of this 10,000+ square foot home. A lot has happened since August of last year when I first met Nick of Annigoni Construction on site. The most obvious addition to the exterior is the stunning copper roof! It glinted in the sunlight as the drone flew around it capturing new video. The interior had several different types of wood used in the ceilings, as well as stone on the walls. Thank you Nick for continuing to choose me as your drone pilot and photographer and I cannot wait to return to get the finished property drone video and photos!
Drone Video and Progress Photography for Luxury Home Builders
Documenting a high-end build while it is still in progress is one of the most effective ways for builders to show the craftsmanship, materials, and scale that define their work. In-progress drone video and aerial photography reveal how a property sits on its land, while detailed still photos highlight architectural choices, finishes, and construction details that are often hidden once a home is complete. I work with builders throughout Pebble Beach, the Monterey Peninsula, and beyond to create polished visual updates that can be shared with clients, used for marketing, and archived as part of a project’s story. If you are building a marquee home and want visuals that reflect the quality of the work being done long before the final reveal, I would be glad to help.
Aerial Drone Photography – A View Only the Sky Can Give
Showing the full scope of a Pebble Beach home in progress
Seeing the Property as a Whole
One of the biggest challenges with documenting luxury home construction in Pebble Beach is that many properties sit on private, wooded lots with limited ground-level visibility. From the ground, it is often impossible to show the full footprint of the home, its relationship to neighboring properties, or how it sits within the surrounding landscape. Aerial drone photography solves that problem immediately, offering clear, composed views of the entire site that simply cannot be achieved any other way.
These drone photos provide a true sense of scale—how the structure is laid out, how different sections connect, and how the home integrates into its environment. For architects, builders, and homeowners alike, this perspective adds clarity and context that traditional still photography cannot provide during the construction phase.
High-Value Visuals for Builders and Clients
Well-executed aerial drone photography is not just visually impressive—it is incredibly practical. These images are ideal for progress updates to clients, marketing content for builder websites, and social media posts that highlight craftsmanship and momentum throughout the build. They also become valuable documentation pieces that show the evolution of the project from foundation to finish.
For builders working in Pebble Beach and across the Monterey Peninsula, aerial drone photos are one of the most effective ways to communicate progress, showcase complexity, and tell the story of a project in a single frame. When paired with drone video and detailed still photography, they create a complete visual record that elevates both the project and the builder’s brand.
Architectural & Design Details
Highlighting the materials, craftsmanship, and custom features that define the home
Photographing the Details That Matter
These images focus on the architectural and design elements that often get overlooked in wide shots but are central to how a home actually feels. From the warmth and precision of the wood ceilings to the clean integration of stone, glass, and custom joinery, these photographs are about documenting craftsmanship as much as aesthetics. They highlight the thought, planning, and skill that go into building a home at this level.
One of my favorite details from this visit is the built-in ceiling television system, visible during construction with the wiring exposed. Photographing features like this at the right stage allows builders to showcase not just the finished result, but the intelligence and engineering behind it. These are the kinds of images that resonate with clients, architects, and designers who appreciate what goes on beneath the surface.
Why Detail Photography Adds Real Marketing Value
For builders and designers, detail photography is an essential part of telling the full story of a project. These images are ideal for websites, presentations, social media, and portfolios because they communicate quality, intention, and uniqueness in a way that wide shots alone cannot. They also serve as a valuable record of custom solutions and design decisions made during construction.
By combining careful composition, controlled lighting, and an understanding of architectural flow, I create detail images that feel purposeful rather than incidental. This approach helps builders like Annigoni Construction show not just whatthey build, but how they build—and why their work stands apart in places like Pebble Beach.
Stone as a Unifying Design Element
Exterior and interior stonework that creates a seamless architectural language
Design Continuity From Outside to In
One of the most compelling aspects of this home is how stone is used as a continuous design element rather than a decorative afterthought. From the exterior walls and entry features to interior surfaces and architectural details, the same stone language carries through the entire structure. Photographing these moments helps tell a deeper story about the intent behind the design—how materials were selected not just for durability, but to visually connect indoor and outdoor spaces in a meaningful way.
These photographs highlight how the stone responds to light differently depending on placement and time of day. Outside, it anchors the home within its natural Pebble Beach surroundings. Inside, it adds warmth, texture, and a sense of permanence that balances the modern lines and expansive glass used throughout the home.
Why Detail Photography Matters for Custom Homes
For builders, architects, and designers, these details are often where craftsmanship truly shines—but they are also the easiest elements to overlook if they are not documented properly. Still photography allows these materials and transitions to be captured intentionally, with careful composition and lighting that shows texture, scale, and workmanship.
Images like these are invaluable for websites, portfolios, proposals, and social media because they communicate quality instantly. They help future clients understand not just what was built, but how thoughtfully it was built—showing continuity, restraint, and a clear design vision carried through every stage of construction.
Wood Ceilings & Warm Modern Craftsmanship

Natural Materials as Architectural Statement
One of the most striking design elements throughout this Pebble Beach home is the extensive use of wood ceilings, including beautifully finished teak. These ceilings are not simply surface finishes—they are intentional architectural features that add warmth, rhythm, and texture to both interior and exterior spaces. Photographing them requires careful attention to perspective, alignment, and light to accurately convey the craftsmanship and scale of the work.
From tight detail compositions to wider contextual views, these images highlight how natural wood elements soften modern architecture while maintaining a refined, contemporary feel. For builders and designers, this type of photography is essential for documenting material choices that often become defining features of the finished home.
Photography That Honors Craft and Detail
High-end construction photography is about more than showing progress—it is about honoring the work itself. Capturing wood ceilings, especially materials like teak, requires controlled exposure, accurate color rendering, and thoughtful composition so the grain, joinery, and installation quality are clearly visible. These images allow builders to showcase craftsmanship that clients may otherwise overlook during construction.
For use on websites, portfolios, social media, and client presentations, professional photography of architectural details like these reinforces quality, care, and attention to detail—key values for custom home builders working in markets like Pebble Beach and the Monterey Peninsula.
