Deja Blue Live Music and Restaurant Marketing Video in Seaside

Restaurant Marketing Video for Deja Blue in Seaside

Showing the live music, full bar, people, and atmosphere that make a venue worth visiting

A good restaurant or club marketing video can show much more than what a place looks like. For Deja Blue in Seaside, I created a video that brings together live music, cocktails, customers, bartenders, and the atmosphere of the venue to give potential guests a feel for what it is like to spend an evening there.

Out Late on a Friday Getting Client Video Content in Seaside

I don’t know if I ever started a shoot at 9pm before, let alone 9pm on a Friday, but that’s just what I did taking my camera and gimbal to Deja Blue in Seaside, California to make a branding and marketing video at a time when the jazz club is actually full of people and there is live jazz playing. It was very lively in there so it woke me up, haha when normally I’d be winding down. This video contains mostly un-staged clips. All the band shots were them performing live and me capturing live. Even most of the scenes with the Deja Blue staff and behind the bar were captured live, but also with a few staged pouring and action clips. Through this process I was able to make a marketing video showing a real Friday night in the club! Thank you to the staff of Deja Blue for being good actors when needed, and to the band for making the place come alive!

Video Content That Gives Customers a Reason to Visit

For restaurants, bars, music venues, and other hospitality businesses, professional video can help answer one of the most important questions a potential customer has before deciding where to go: What will it actually be like when I get there?

Photos are excellent for showing a menu item, interior, cocktail, or performer in detail. Video adds movement, sound, interaction, and atmosphere, which can make it especially valuable for a business built around an in person experience.

Why Video Works Especially Well for Live Music Venues

Show the Energy Instead of Describing It

A venue can write that it has live music and a lively atmosphere, but seeing a musician playing on stage with customers in the room immediately communicates that experience. For Deja Blue, the musicians became one of the strongest visual elements of the video and helped establish what makes the venue different from a typical restaurant or bar.

Feature the People Behind the Experience

The bartender making cocktails, staff interacting behind the bar, musicians performing, and guests enjoying themselves all make the business feel active and welcoming. Including people also helps a marketing video feel less like a tour of a building and more like an invitation to experience the place.

Create Content That Can Work in More Than One Place

A professionally created marketing video can become useful content for a restaurant or venue website, YouTube, social media, digital advertising, Google Business Profile, and other promotional uses. Individual moments from the same shoot can also become shorter video clips for Reels, Stories, and other social content.

That gives a business much more value from one content creation session than creating something for only a single post.

Professional Restaurant and Hospitality Video on the Monterey Peninsula

I create photography and video for restaurants, bars, hospitality businesses, live events, and other businesses throughout Seaside, Monterey, Pacific Grove, Carmel, Pebble Beach, and the surrounding Monterey Peninsula.

A shoot can focus entirely on video, or combine professional video with food photography, drink photography, staff images, interior and exterior photographs, and other marketing content during the same visit.

For businesses where the experience itself is part of what customers are buying, video can be one of the best ways to show people what makes the place worth visiting.
