It was kind of unusual that my very first photo shoot since moving to California was an engagement shoot in Big Sur, something I do not specialize in and have not done in a long time. However, Prasanna contacted me and said he liked my work and even though I told him I am not an engagement or wedding photography specialist, he still wanted me as his photographer. I was flattered by that! The weather just worked out, as well as the timing, for getting these candid engagement shots. I now have a go to location for this type of shoot if clients do not have their own preference! Thank you Prasanna for choosing me as your engagement photographer and congratulations!
Sea Lions and pups entertain in Monterey, California
The sea lions have had their pups, and they are all over a popular section of the recreational trail in Monterey, California. People stop and enjoy their antics. I wonder though, how many who are in that area all the time enjoy this? Sea lions bark constantly, and are stinky. After an hour of photographing them, I was good! They certainly are entertaining though whether they know they are being so or not.
Kitchen Remodel Photography for Home in Pacific Grove California
It was a very specific subject for my third shoot (first and second shoots) for Adelle of Murrer Construction, a custom kitchen renovation in a Pacific Grove, California home. The team at Murrer changed a galley kitchen into a modern, open, large island style kitchen with white cabinets and stainless steel appliances. This is all not mentioning adding hardwood floors too! I saw a couple of before pictures and the difference in function and vibe made to the house is unbelievable. I think the new kitchen photographed very well. Catching a kind of rare sunset at Asilomar Beach in Pacific Grove
For a town on a peninsula surrounded by water, some of which faces west, Pacific Grove does not often have direct, to the horizon, sunsets. Various points make seeing west impossible over the water, and then of course there is the fog, especially in summer into early fall. So when the sun was shining an hour before actual sunset still, I grabbed my camera and headed to Asilomar Beach and was able to capture this rare to the horizon sunset! You never know when the next chance might come.

Bathroom and Bedroom Remodel Photography for Home in Pacific Grove California
This is already the second shoot for my new client, Adelle of Murrer Construction. The amazing work her construction team did on this bathroom renovation made shooting it a creative jog. My favorite photo from this commercial real estate shoot in Pacific Grove was this top down one of the free standing soaking bathtub. For the bedroom I wanted to highlight the details they built in, not the furniture the owner added. So the custom cabinetry is in the shot below, as long as the two sets of doors, one leading to the deck and the other to the bathroom. Thank you Adelle for being my first client in Pacific Grove!
Kitchen Remodel Photography for Condo in Pebble Beach California
At long last I have made my photography debut here in the Monterey area of California! I am very lucky to have such a great first client, Adelle of Murrer Construction. Her construction company did a remodel of this kitchen in a condo in Pebble Beach, California. I was encouraged to be as creative as I wanted to in highlighting the work her team did on transforming this kitchen into a modern, blue toned eye catcher! I used both a wide angle lens and a large aperture prime lens to get different, creative views for Adelle to use in her company’s marketing materials.
