Offering headshots as good as anywhere in the country right in Albuquerque
Scott’s company was actually going to fly him to Phoenix to get headshots because they thought he could not get good enough headshots right here in Albuquerque. Thankfully his contact person found me and Scott did not have to fly all the way to Phoenix just to get headshots! It is my goal to show individuals and businesses that outstanding modern headshots for business people and creatives are available in Albuquerque. Thank you to Saige at H.W. Kaufman for choosing me as your headshot photographer and to Scott for doing so well in front of the camera.
Historical Photography in the Wind at Fort Union National Monument
On a very windy Sunday morning I returned to Fort Union National Monument for a second visit and a new photography perspective. Even though it was bright sunshine out, the light was not harsh allowing me to get the most out of my new Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II lens in a series of shots where I wanted to feature different viewing angles and foreground objects. Having heard most of the ranger’s tour and history of Fort Union I think helped me connect with the place and make better photos trying to pull out of the years the last glimpses of the remaining physical fort. I definitely recommend visiting when a ranger can take you on a tour. Just be prepared for why this place is nicknamed Ft. Windy!
Many visits to Socorro County west of Belen in New Mexico
Socorro County New Mexico, near Belen in particular, is one of the areas I have visited the most in my 5+ years of photographing hundreds of rural land real estate properties. Then even more specifically, this area near the small airport west of Belen, high up on a plain bordered by mountains I return to multiple times each year. It is a peaceful area, and once you go south a bit, you feel like the entire desert is just yours. Walking this land with my two cameras is a peaceful photography work experience. The only noise comes when I send the drone up to get aerial photos of the entire 5 acres.
Making photos of horses and robots and people for CNM
All of October I am working on a project for CNM making photographs of founders of companies in and around Albuquerque. Some of these people I have already known for quite some time, like Paul of Equiseq. And I also tangentially knew Chris of Build With Robots from an open house years ago. I really like photo assignments like this where with a simple one light off camera setup, can go into a new environment and have free reign to create the photo I like of each person. Thank you to Jen and CNM for choosing me as the photographer for this project!
Making headshots for medical residency applications in Albuquerque
Evelyn visited the JCP Home Studio needing headshots for her medical residency application. During the shoot we followed the guidelines she was given. Evelyn did great in front of the camera and after editing I sent her the photos in the very low res size needed. The challenge started with getting them to upload despite being the exact specs! I went against logic and tried a few things, and those worked! Thank you Evelyn for choosing me as your headshot photographer and for the 5-star review! Good luck at your residency!
Can I make a drone video of a dentist jumping over his staff in New Mexico? Yes, I can!
I was contacted by a dentist in Gallup, New Mexico with a very unusual drone video and photography idea. He told me that he wanted to both jump his dirt bike over his dental staff and then drive the dirt bike through his practice! Dr. Porter had me curious for sure! After some discussion about what was feasible that I could do both in terms of drone video, regular video, and still photography, we had the details set and I was off to Gallup where I spent the night to be ready for the early 7am start in the morning. Despite many “never done that before” shots, the morning went off nearly flawlessly and I was able to make all the content Dr. Porter wanted. Thank you to Dr. Porter and his entire team for being so great in front of the camera and the drone, and below the dirt bike!!
