Pacific Grove Senior Living Celebrates 100 Years with Chamber Ribbon Cutting

Pacific Grove Senior Living Celebrates 100 Years

A Pacific Grove Chamber ribbon cutting and 1920s-inspired centennial celebration

Pacific Grove Senior Living marked an extraordinary milestone on July 9, 2026, celebrating its 100th anniversary with residents, staff members, families, community leaders, and guests. I photographed the occasion for the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce, documenting the ceremonial ribbon cutting as well as the lively 1920s-inspired celebration that followed inside the historic Gibson Avenue property.

A Century of Community in Pacific Grove

Even after nearly 3 years of living in Pacific Grove, there are still big surprises for me, like, the Pacific Grove Senior Living building is the largest building in PG! I had been in it once before, but this was the first time properly inside for the 100 year anniversary. It was a special event for me from the start, due to the company I had, the reason for that first prior visit, and then the chance to not only photograph a ribbon cutting like I have done many times before for the PG Chamber, but to talk with and listen to the residents and hear their stories. I love to hear stories and thank you to the residents that share theirs!

The building itself added to the atmosphere of the occasion. Its woodwork, bright gathering rooms, decorative windows, and classic interior details provided a fitting setting for a centennial event inspired by the style and spirit of the 1920s.

Photography That Preserves an Important Milestone

Anniversaries, grand openings, ribbon cuttings, and community celebrations often bring together people who may not be assembled in the same place again. Professional event photography preserves the ceremonial moments, meaningful interactions, venue details, and spontaneous expressions that tell the complete story of the occasion.

A 1920s-Inspired Celebration

Period style · Live entertainment · Residents and guests

Guests were encouraged to embrace the 1920s theme, and many arrived wearing headbands, hats, pearls, and other period-inspired accessories. Refreshments, appetizers, live piano music, and raffles added to the festive atmosphere. Some of the most memorable photographs came from the candid moments between formal activities—friends sharing a toast, residents enjoying the entertainment, and guests reacting to everything happening around them.

Photographing Another Pacific Grove Chamber Milestone

As an active member and ambassador of the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce, I value the opportunity to photograph local businesses, nonprofits, institutions, and community organizations during meaningful occasions. These events show the relationships that connect Pacific Grove and provide organizations with photographs they can continue using long after the celebration has ended.

The 100th anniversary of Pacific Grove Senior Living was a particularly notable milestone—one that brought together history, community, and plenty of personality in a single afternoon.

Planning a Community or Business Event?

Professional event photography helps an organization preserve the experience while creating visual content for press releases, social media, newsletters, annual reports, websites, and future promotions. My event photography approach combines the key scheduled moments with natural photographs of the people and interactions that give each gathering its personality.
