Construction Photography for AA Construction in Carmel
Ground-level craftsmanship and aerial progress documentation from an active residential build
AA Construction Company Inc. is one of my newest construction photography clients, yet this Carmel job site was already my third assignment for the company. For this phase of the project, I created a combination of ground-level still photographs and aerial drone images showing the crew at work, the developing structure, the complete construction footprint, and the surrounding Carmel neighborhood.
A New Construction Client, Already Three Shoots In
I really appreciate returning clients. This new client was an exceptional case because I had three right in succession! By the time I left Carmel, I had already completed multiple shoots for AA Construction Company. Though they were all in progress job sites, each site offered its own unique opportunity for creating photographs and aerial drone photos to highlight how AA Construction builds its own client projects and to show their team and crew in action. In particular, the framing stage made this visit especially visual. Walls were beginning to define the layout, workers were measuring and fastening structural components, and the shape of the building could be understood from both inside the site and above it. My goal was to create photographs that documented the progress accurately while also showing the people, physical effort, and craftsmanship behind the build. Thank you to Andrew and Mandi for choosing me as their new construction and job site photographer and drone pilot!
Show the Work Before It Is Covered Up
Many of the most important stages of construction eventually disappear behind walls, finishes, and completed surfaces. Professional progress photography creates a visual record of the framing, materials, structural work, crew, and changing site before the next phase begins.
These images can support client updates, websites, social media, proposals, company presentations, project archives, and future marketing.
Building the Structure From the Ground Up
Framing · Measurements · Materials · Crew at work
Ground-level construction photography brings viewers directly into the work. During this visit, I photographed crew members positioning a framed wall, fastening it into place, checking measurements, and working across the developing floor plan.
Including the workers gives the gallery energy and scale while showing that a construction project is more than materials and machinery. It is also the result of coordination, physical effort, experience, and decisions being made throughout the day.
Seeing the Full Carmel Construction Site From Above
Project footprint · Building progress · Site conditions · Neighborhood context
Aerial drone photography provides information that cannot be communicated as clearly from ground level. The straight-down views show the developing floor plan and the relationship between different areas of the structure, while the angled photographs reveal how the project fits between the neighboring homes and mature trees.
The wider aerial images add another layer of context by showing the property’s location within Carmel and its relationship to the surrounding residential neighborhood and coastline. Together, the close and wide drone perspectives create a more complete record of the project at this stage.
Working With AA Construction Company Inc.
This Carmel project marked the beginning of what has already become an active working relationship with AA Construction Company Inc. Repeated visits make it possible to document meaningful changes over time while developing a consistent visual style for the company’s website, social media, client communication, and project portfolio.
For the contractor, the photographs provide current material showing the company’s work in progress. For future customers, they offer a look behind the completed surfaces at the people and process responsible for building them.
Photography for One Phase or the Complete Build
Construction photography can document a single important phase or follow a project from early site preparation through completion. Recurring visits make it possible to show visible progress while creating a library of photographs for several business needs.
Coverage may include:
Site preparation and foundations
Framing and structural progress
Workers performing key tasks
Materials and construction details
Mechanical and utility installations
Aerial site overviews
Exterior development
Interior finishes
Completed architectural photography
A schedule can be created around the milestones that matter most to the contractor, architect, property owner, or project team.
Professional Photography for Builders and Contractors
Strong construction photography shows more than a finished room or exterior. It demonstrates the process, the people doing the work, the scale of the project, and the quality that goes into details a future client may never otherwise see.
I provide construction progress photography, commercial photography, architectural images, and aerial drone coverage for contractors, builders, designers, architects, developers, and property professionals throughout Carmel, Pacific Grove, Monterey, Pebble Beach, and the Monterey Peninsula.
