One of my first food photography shoots for UberEats was at Breve ABQ in Albuquerque New Mexico. It was also one of my best no doubt to the fact that one of the owners, Billy, is a professional photographer too and really cared about presentation of the food and had a very nice table to use as a background. I have since gone back to Breve for a photographer's meet up he hosts!
This hero shot ticks all the boxes: 2 hand models, contrasting color background (table), and great props to go along side the actual food. It helps to have drinks as some of the hero shot items to balance the size. If they were all plates sized like the bagel was on, that would have been a tougher shot to make look balanced.
One of the best things about doing food photography, sometimes you get to take home the food! Such was the case with the oatmeal pictured above. It was fantastic and how I wish I could make my own oatmeal at home, but I do not normally spiral banana slices in mine! Thank you Billy for a fun shoot and the to-go oatmeal and for hosting the photographer's meet-ups!
