Albuquerque Portrait Photography with Elle

One of 5 outfit changes Elle made for her social media portraits at the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque New Mexico - Nikon D750 with Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8D - Strobist:  SB-800 in 32" octagonal softbox and SB-600 in 43" shoot-through umbrella and Yongnuo YN560 IV bare on floor

Elle and her dad came over to the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque New Mexico for a social media portrait session.  She is going to have her own YouTube Channel in the near future and wanted a variety of different photos for showcasing in social media.  We went through five different outfit changes and thus five totally different scenarios!  Taekwondo is above!

Contemplating a chess move in this social media portrait - Nikon D750 with Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8D - Strobist:  SB-800 in 32" octagonal softbox and SB-600 in 43" shoot-through umbrella and Yongnuo YN560 IV bare on floor

Elle was good at acting and giving different facial expressions for each scenario I photographed her in.  I cannot say I understood exactly what the theme was for this particular shot with the chess board, but her dad set things up so I just had to make sure to get a great photo of it.

Trying out using a speedlight bare on the floor behind the subject in this social media portrait - Nikon D750 with Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8D - Strobist:  SB-800 in 32" octagonal softbox and SB-600 in 43" shoot-through umbrella and Yongnuo YN560 IV bare on floor

I experimented with some new lighting setups during this shoot adding a bare speedlight on the floor behind the subject to create a strong backlight/rim light.  I am always trying to make more creative photos for clients with new techniques and new photo gear.
