From Western New Mexico University for Headshots in Albuquerque
A representative from Western New Mexico University reached out to me about making headshots of a recent graduate for a feature being done on her. I said that would be great, so that is how Justyce came to visit the JCP Home Studio here in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a Covid-19 safe headshot session. Justyce wanted a gray background, which is becoming a more and more popular choice with my headshot clients. It was a great shoot that only took up 15 minutes of her time. Thank you to Justyce for being fantastic in front of the camera and to WNMU for choosing me as her headshot photographer.
It was quite the challenge to capture the sunset at six different rural land real estate properties in Huerfano CountyColorado with only three nights to do so! This resulted in one evening being like the end of the movie Bram Stoker’s Dracula with me actually racing against the sunset to get to the last property in time before the sun disappeared behind the mountains. Unlike in the movie, I did make it before the sunset and got the shots I needed. Without having to race around in a Jeep, you can see all the sunset views made with my signature HDR technique.
On a very windy Friday evening I met three dentists in the desert at the foothills of the Sandia Mountains for a commercial portrait and headshot photoshoot. When I say windy, I mean windy! It was a real team effort with Jessica assisting on purpose, and my contact person, Annamarie, helping out to in order to get the best possible on location headshots possible, and a group shot of all three dentists to culminate a blustery shoot. 1 Million Cups to EquiSeq to professional headshots in Albuquerque
Longtime networking friend Paul of EquiSeq visited the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico recently for a Covid-19 safeheadshot session. It is always the highest compliment when a friend chooses me as their photographer also. Besides being the Chief Scientific Officer for EquiSeq, Paul is also an organizer for our local 1 Million Cups, and is part of Indivisible Nob Hill. He is a very busy person no doubt! Thank you Paul for choosing me as your headshot photographer and it was good to see you in person for the first time in over a year!
Infinite Sand for Infinite Photographs at White Sands
There are some natural wonders that a photographer could live at and basically photograph for the rest of their life. Places like the Grand Canyon are obvious. For New Mexico, there may not be an immediate obvious choice, but to me. the obvious choice is White Sands. I have been there three times and each visit I found something the same, but different to photograph. Then there is the unique, open world construct of White Sands. There are no set paths you have to walk on, no established iconic photo of White Sands, which frees a photographer to wander and find their own iconic view of this expanse of white sand desert, distant mountains, and endless sky.

Part two of the commercial photography photo shoot I did for Shaw Skin Clinic (formerly Skinnovate) in Albuquerque, New Mexico were headshots for the entire team on both white and gray backgrounds. With team headshots that are consistent and uniform, a business really shows that the people that work for it are all part of the team. So now on their website, to go along with the commercial portraits I made of them in action, the about us page features their new modern headshots. Here at Jason Collin Photography it is very satisfying to make a series of professional headshots and commercial portraits for a business that help them highlight their entire team along with the business space itself. This total package is a magnetic way to attract new clients to your business. The first event I photographed since the pandemic began
With the goal of bringing more affordable housing to the greater Albuquerque area, Multigreen held a ground breaking ceremony on the west side of ABQ that will develop 40,000 units by 2030 according to the banner used as a background for the group photos. This was the first formal event I photographed since the pandemic started over a year ago. Photographing events like this and also national and international conferences used to be 15%+ of my annual business and some of the photography I enjoyed the most. I look forward to their return, hopefully in the not too distant future.
