Route 66 still lives on in Tucumcari
If you are traveling from the east into New Mexico, then Tucumcari is the first town you will come across. It is a historic Route 66 town feature a Route 66 Museum and some of the old motels and eateries leftover from those classic 1950s days. Tucumcari also has a great dinosaur museum. I have had the opportunity to stay in town twice while out on photoshoots. This last time the client wanted drone video and photo highlights of the town. I recommend spending at least a night in Tucumcari the next time you are passing through!

Street Photography Challenge
Early in my photography career when I was living in St. Petersburg, Florida, back around 2010, I used to teach a lot of photography lessons because DSLR cameras were just starting to be bought and used by non-pro-photographers, i.e. enthusiasts and hobbyists, and who the heck could figure out how to use something with a dozen buttons on it? So a couple times a week I’d spent 2 hours with someone walking the streets of St. Pete teaching them my 5-stop process for shooting in manual mode while finding interesting things to make photos of.

One quickly discovers walking around Venice Beach (I did nearly 8 miles of walking in one day!) that it is a city of many murals. Some can take up the entire side of a 3-story building, like in the above, and are very public and visible. That would seem to make the most sense to put a mural where many people can see it.
